Summary functions to dataframe
I have written a few different summary functions. I want to calculate the statistics by groups and I am having trouble getting the output as a dataframe. I have attached one example with a small dataset that calculates summary stats and percentiles, I have others that calculate upper confidence limits etc. I would like the output to be converted to a dataframe with one of the columns as the

Samba 4 vs Samba 3
So, I have "working" builds of Samba 3.6.10, and 4.0.2 using the traditional build system on AIX, both built with XLC. For historical reasons, we're needing to use 'encrypt passwords = no', so that Samba uses the OS password. The odd thing, is, the 3.6.10 Samba works just fine, but the 4.0.2 doesn't allow connections. Here's the Samba config I'm using on both:

Samba 3.6.10 not reading groups
Helpp! :) We didn't catch this in testing and now it's killing me in production! I'm getting stuck with my fresh build of Samba 3.6.10. It isn't honoring groups specified in the valid users clause of the share configuration. I'm running in security = SHARE mode, and user authentication is working just fine. Even if I specify individual users on the valid users = line, it

minimum kernel version for btrfsprogs.0.20?
Creating a btrfs file system using btrfs-progs-0.20.rc1.20130308git704a08c-1.fc19, and either kernel 3.6.10-4.fc18 or 3.9.0-0.rc3.git0.3.fc19, makes a file system that cannot be mounted by kernel 3.6.10-4.fc18. It can be mounted by kernel 3.8.4. I haven''t tested any other 3.8, or any 3.7 kernels. Is this expected? dmesg reports: [ 300.014764] btrfs: disk space caching is enabled [

Installation problem MacOS X
R gurus I have tried to install the R 2.0.1 binary for OS X and although the installation was successful I can get the application going. When I double click the icon R tries to load (R window shows briefly) and it quits immediately. This behavior was described in this list before and nobody found the answer to the problem. If you try to load the x11 version by typing "R" at

[LLVMdev] AESOP autoparallelizing compiler
Hi, We would like to inform the community that we're releasing a version of our research compiler, "AESOP", developed at UMD using LLVM. AESOP is a distance-vector-based autoparallelizing compiler for shared-memory machines. The source code and some further information is available at http://aesop.ece.umd.edu The main components of the released implementation are loop memory

[LLVMdev] AESOP autoparallelizing compiler
Hi Rahul, Thanks for your interest! Our work does not attempt to make any significant contributions to alias analysis, and acts as a client to existing LLVM AA. Furthermore, the options passed to the AESOP frontend scripts are obeyed at compile time, but at link time certain transformations occur unconditionally. Here, AESOP has actually thwarted your experiment by performing inlining just

[LLVMdev] AESOP autoparallelizing compiler
Hi Timothy, Today I happened to download the code and do some experiments. I actually wanted to see how you handle inter-procedure alias analysis. So, I set inline threshold to zero and tried out following example =============================================== #define N 1024 void func(double *A, double *B) { int i; for (i=1; i<N-2; i++) { B[i] = A[i] + i*3; } } void func1(double
