Multicast Paging
I know this may be a bit off topic... I'm trying to play a pre-recorded message to a group of Aastra phones using multicast paging. I can page phone to phone without issue, but sending from one of my servers to the phones results in garbled audio. Anyone else been able to make this work without problem? My VLC command line is below. cvlc -v emergency-test2.wav --norm-max-level=5 --sout

I have a question about regular connections from ip-addresses such as 136.244.94.87 - - [26/Feb/2023:14:54:27 +0100] "GET /stream HTTP/1.1" 200 133567 "-" "Lavf/58.45.100" 3 Which never lead to a long lasting connection. Can anybody explain what kind of connections these are? THX Johan Verzonden vanuit Mail voor Windows -------------- next part --------------

Nux VLC gives CLI only on CentOS-6.x
I thought this was just because of various unwise repo mixing that I'd done on my main home server-cum-workstation, but I've been able to duplicate it on a fresh VirtualBox installation. I install the nux repo vlc-core and vlc-extras. I then try to start it from a command line. I get +++++++ main interface error: no suitable interface module [0x1ae5108] main libvlc error: interface

MTBF of Ext3 and Partition Size
Hi All, On several of my servers I seem to have a high rate of server crashes do to file system errors. So I have some questions related to this: Is there any Mean Time Between Failure ( MTBF) data for the ext3 file-system? Does increased partition size cause a higher risk of the partition being corrupted? If so, is there any data on the ratio between partition size and the likely hood of

iSCSI Question
Hey everyone, Is anybody aware of a /true/ active/active multi-head and multi-target clustered iSCSI daemon? IE: Server 1: Hostname: host1.test.com IP Address: 10.0.0.1 Server 2: Hostname: host2.test.com IP Address: 10.0.0.2 Then they would utilize a CLVM disk between them, let's call that VG "disk" and then directly map each LUN (1,2,3,4,etc) to LV's named 1,2,3,4,... and

I have a mail account which needs to be accessed by 4-5 people simultaneously through IMAP. As of now I have configured it on the respective clients using the same username and password so we have multiple people accessing the same account through their mail clients simultaneously and it is working flawlessly. Is this alright or can it lead to some problems or corruption of data later ? What is

Please help me interpret these results (fitting distributions to real data)
I just thought of a useful metaphore for the problem I face. I am dealing with a problem in business finance, with two kinds of related events. However, imagine you have a known amount of carbon (so many kilograms), but you do not know what fraction is C14 (and thus radioactive). Only the C14 will give decay events (and once that event has occurred, the atom that decayed will never decay

When will CentOS Publish Errata?
David, The CentOS team has taken the stance that they do not understand what is required for this, so, they will not be including it under any circumstances. I am unable to locate the thread in the archive: http://lists.centos.org/pipermail/centos-devel/2014-September/thread.html However, luckily, Gmane archives everything just fine.

I decided to go for Intel based boards (socket LGA 775) since it seems like power management is better supported with Intel processors and power efficiency is an important factor.
