Royalty-free codecs at the IETF
Hello,
I would like to point everyone's attention to a proposal to create a new
IETF working group dedicated to standardising unencumbered audio codecs.
There will be a BoF at the next IETF meeting (26-31 July) in Stockholm
to discuss that. I encourage those interested in taking part in the
mailing list discussion ( https://www.ietf.org/mailman/listinfo/codec )
and/or attending the BoF in

Royalty-free codecs at the IETF
Hi everyone,
For the past few months, we have been working with the IETF to form a new
working group dedicated to standardising truly free audio codecs. Following the
BoF (meeting) we had in Stockholm a few months ago, we have addressed several
issues and we will be having a second BoF *tomorrow* in Hiroshima. Everyone
interesting in the matter can participate virtually and give input. The

[LLVMdev] [RFC] Performance tracking and benchmarking infrastructure BoF
Hi,
Next week at the developers meeting, I'm chairing a BoF session on improving
our performance tracking and benchmarking infrastructure. I'd like to make
the
most out of the 45 minute slot. Therefore, I'd like to start the discussion
a
bit earlier here, giving everyone who can't come to the BoF a chance to put
in
their 2 cents. At the same time, I hope this will also give me a

BoF: Raising Next Generation of LLVM Developers
Dear community,
We are trying to setup a BoF ( Raising Next Generation of LLVM
Developers, http://sched.co/8Yzs).
In our academic-oriented environments the main work force is
students: undergrads, grads or PhD (rarely postdocs). Often we have
limited time to bring somebody up to speed and we have to it in a
productive and motivating for both parties way. I believe most of you

[LLVMdev] BoF: Vectorization in LLVM
Hi,
We are going to have a BoF session on vectorization on Nov 8th. Everybody is invited!
Most of the BoF is going to be an open discussion, but Hal and I are also going to talk a little bit about the Loop vectorizer, the BB vectorizer and the common infrastructure.
Here is a preliminary agenda for the BoF:
1. A quick overview on vectorization in LLVM - 3 min.
2. Loop vectorizer design

[LLVMdev] LLVM BoF at SC13
Dear Michael & Hal,
We had a submission to SC13 on beating OpenACC compilers with
LLVM+Polly+NVPTX [1]. Unfortunately, reviewers somehow expected we want to
go into polyhedral tools intercomparison, which was absolutely not our
goal. The goal was exactly to bring a competitive HPC/GPU toolchain for end
users. Only NV works for now, MIC is in progress. If you think this
contribution is worth a

IETF Video codec Birds of a Feather session. Please participate. **TODAY**
Today at 17:40-19:40 Eastern Standard Time (22:40-00:40 UTC) the IETF
will be holding a Birds of a Feather session to discuss creating a
working group for developing a next generation video codec for
Internet use. Remote participation is open to everyone.
This would be an effort somewhat similar to what we used to create the
Opus audio codec. The IETF provides an open standardization process

Interest in a Debug Info BoF at EuroLLVM?
Hello debug-info fans,
There has been a lot of activity in the debug-info area lately, and
I was wondering if there's interest in a BoF session this April.
Alternatively we could just have a hacker-lab table again, which
worked out pretty well at the last US meeting.
Some potential discussion topics for the BoF/table could be:
* Improving debugging of optimized code
** Defining what -Og

SYSLINUX talk or BOF at the Ottawa Linux Symposium 2007
Hi all,
I'm thinking of doing a SYSLINUX talk or BOF at the Ottawa Linux
Symposium this year. I'm right now trying to figure out which, but I'm
kind of leaning toward a BOF, since I really would like to take the
opportunity to get more feedback.
However, if there is interest in a formal talk I might be able to do
that. If so, I'd like to know what people want to hear about.

[LLVMdev] LLVM Dev Meeting - Testing BoF Volunteer
We are looking for a volunteer to lead a Testing BoF at next month's LLVM Dev Meeting. Testing was a popular topic in the responses to the LLVM Dev Meeting registration questionnaire. It also seems to be a recent theme on LLVMdev.
A Testing BoF should seek to better describe the issues, identify any interest or actual work in addressing the issues, and foster potential collaboration.
