Strange behavior of QoS
Hi,
I'm having some weird problem with the setup of the QoS on a bridged network.
As the docs states, outbound/inbound average speed should be expressed in KBps (KBytes per second) but in order to get a maximum speed of 10Mbps (megabits per second) surprising enough I have to use 2560 on the guest (not 1280 as expected).
Using 1280 units I get a speed og 5Mbps.
I'm aware of peak and

DCC rule set
I have been given a set of "firewall rules" to open my firewall for DCC
to support my spam filtering.
(I have done many web searches trying to find info relating to DCC with
Shorewall, to no avail.
The problem is that I am clueless on how these "rules" translate into
the shorewall rule format.
Could someone please help me translate these?

[Feature Request] Allow options in Host block to override global options in ssh
Hi everyone,
For ssh(1) to override global options with the options in "Host" block, the
attached diff (w.r.t. the openssh code in FreeBSD 8.1-R) contains the code to
do so while parsing ssh configuration file.
This is useful for case like following where {d,proj,p,n}cvs.FreeBSD.org is an
alias to ncvs.FreeBSD.org hostname, thus connecting to
{d,proj,p,n}cvs.FreeBSD.org should utilize

Cisco VoIP QOS
I have currently following the instructions at-
http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/QoS+Cisco
I am using a Cisco 877 router with an ADSL2+ connection.
My upstream bandwidth is around 1Mbps, and my downstream around 4-5Mbps.
I have two PSTN side interfaces - atm0 and dialer0 (dialer0 is where the ISP
details are configured and the interface that the WAN side IP is applied on)
Now which

QoS in wireless networks
Hello,
I''m trying to configure several wireless routers with QoS support. The
idea is to implement differentiated services so that VoIP traffic gets
the maximal priority, then video, control traffic, interactive data
traffic and best-effort traffic.
I have seen that CBQ used to be chosen as qdisc for implementing
bandwith share in DiffServ but now HTB is preferred because it is

Quadro 4000 with iiyama B2783QSU should be 2560x1440 but detected as 1920x1080.

connected iiyama B2783QSU 2560x1440 monitor identified as DP-1.
Problem: The monitor is detected as 1920x1080 and not 2560x1440. See Xorg

QOS ip filter does no work with 2 queues below top level queue ...
Hello
First thanks for the answers I have received from the list!!
I have now a working qos configuration which bases of the lartc howto
capitel 15.10.
One Problem I have is that I have limited the upload stream to 100kps
because my
upstream is only 128kbps.
Everything works fine EXCEPT Voip.
I have a VoiP phone which is connected on the same net as the adsl modem BUT
does not use upstream it

QoS + OpenVPN
Hi, I''ve got 3 questions:
1) is it possible to do QoS and OpenVPN? I thought about doing QoS based
on IP, as there''s a couple of servers here that need to be on a higher
priority.
2) can anyone point me to a decent QoS how-to?
3) damn, I can''t remember what this one was. :o)
Cheers,

IntServ QoS question
I''m using KOM_RSVP
I''m trying to figure out what trigures and RSVP session. When I send
traffic with a certain utility the RSVP PATH, RESV, and CONF message is
sent. How does the Deameon know to setup a connection though? There is
something internal at the client source happening. I just haven''t
figured it out yet. Is it listening to a certain port? Any help would

Validating QoS
Hi all,
I have been tasked with "implementing QoS" on one of our networks.
Looking at the documents of LARTC I believe I can implement most of
what we want just using netfilter rules and tc. So far, so good.
My question though is how can I analyse how much of an improvement I
can expect to achieve using these kinds of solutions. Does anyone here
have any experiences that they can share

QoS Linux questions
Hy,
I''ve two question about the QoS on a Linux system.
1) What''s unit it uses for the rate in the differente configuration of the
schedulers, IP rate or Ethernet rate ?
2) Is it possible to attach on a interface, a queues with a strict priority
scheduler and two or mores with a HTB scheduler ?
For example, a queue for the VoIP with a strict priority, 2 queues for Video

QoS IP precedence and Diffserv combination
All:
I am tasked with creating an environment in which DiffServ and IP
precedence is handled as close to RFC specification as possible. I have
a few problems with implementing this based on current queueing
structure. Here are a few of my questions.
1.) Is there any way to get DiffServ AF drop levels without using
DSMARK and GRED?
Ex.
AF11 Gred DP 1
AF12 Gred DP 2
AF13 Gred DP 3

QoS prio queuing
Is there anyway to actually see packet stats or that packets are for
sure going into a prio queue with TC?
I can see all the HTB stats but the prio classes just list as being
there...would like more information
Basically I have the following setup
DSMARK
|
HTB - (tcindex filter on TOS)
|
Prio (u32 filter on TOS)
Thanks

QoS + TOS field
Hi,
I''m trying to figure out how to use Linux QoS. Default
setting has three queues (bands) and should prioretise
outgoing tarffic based on TOS field. I try to test
that by flooding Ethernet interface by netperf or
iptraf and running ping -f with -Q and without Q. -Q
doesn''t affect ping results, it suffers anyway. It
seems that I don''t understand something. I verified

QoS over Wireless network
Hy,
I would want to give QoS a one wireless network. Do you know if exist
any qdisc specific for this??. I know that the most modern qdisc is
HFSC, is this true??.
Thanks for all and Regards.
