Problem with sieve not triggering randomly?
I'm running CentOS 7.1 with Dovecot 2.2.10 (CentOS packaged version). I have Postfix feeding messages to Dovecot for local delivery via LMTP, and I have Amavisd for spam filtering. For messages above a certain threshold, Amavisd adds the "X-Spam-Flag: YES" header, and I file that into the Spam folder using a default (system-wide) sieve script (there aren't any per-user sieve

How do I use plus-addressing in Dovecot 1.1.x?
I'm using Postfix, Amavisd-new/SpamAssassin, and Dovecot. They all run on the same server (running Linux). The mailboxes are stored on the same server in maildir format. The logical path for incoming messages (as I understand it) is: 1) received by Postfix; handed off to Amavisd-new 2) Amavisd-new checks to see whether or not it's spam/undesirable; hands off to Dovecot deliver 3)

sieve filter not working
Hi, I have a question. I have dovecot 2.0.9 running on a CentOS 6.6 email server for a small department, ~15 users. amavis and postfix are also enabled. It appears that amavis invokes spamassassin, which tags incoming spam email. All email is then put into users local inbox directory, regardless of spam tag X-Spam_Flag value of YES or NO. I want instead to redirect spam to a special directory.

sieve filter not working
Hi, OK. I tried your suggestion. I modified the dovecot config file "10-logging.conf", like so: log_path = syslog and mail_debug = yes It appears that the logging goes to "/var/log/maillog", not "messages" as I expected. Restarting service dovecot produces info in the "maillog" file showing the restart: ... Jan 22 15:20:14 coe dovecot: imap: Server

Sieve script unable to file into public folder after dovecot upgrade to version 2.3.4
Hi all, Wishing you and your families a Happy New Year 2019. I am currently struggling with an odd sieve issue after upgrading dovecot from 2.2.32 to the latest 2.3.4 version. OS is Ubuntu 18.04. For one of our users I have a sieve rule in place which should copy (keep + fileinto) incoming mails from the INBOX to a public namespace folder. Unfortunately this does not work anymore. In the sieve

Getting started with sieve and conversion from procmail
Hi, I have a fedora15 system with dovecot-v2.0.15, dovecot-pigeonhole and and amavisd-new and would like to implement it on my system using postfix. I've read the basic wiki documentation, but I really can't figure out the proper starting point in my case. I've enabled "protocol lda" in 15-lda.conf and added "sieve" to the list of mail_plugins. I'm trying to

Sieve problems (not matching emails expected to match)
I have a sieve file that reads like this: require "fileinto"; # Emacs if header :contains "List-Id" "emacs-devel.gnu.org" { fileinto "mail.emacs-devel"; } elsif header :contains "List-Id" "emacs-bidi.gnu.org" { fileinto "mail.emacs-bidi"; } ... Postfix + dovecot setup
I'm trying to clarify the various ways in which I could set up Postfix + Dovecot + SpamAssassin under CentOS-7, and I'd welcome any comments on the following remarks. As far as I can see there are 3 standard ways of setting this up: 1. Use amavisd 2. Use dovecot + pigeonhole/sieve 3. Use spamass-milter At present I'm following (2), but am thinking of going over to (1), since

Sieve: deleteheader now working with duplicate filter for implicit keep
Hello, I have a rule to always delete a header. If the message gets fileinto'd, the header is gone, but if it's delivered into the INBOX through implicit keep, the header does not get deleted. Interestingly, if I remove the "if duplicate" filter, the header does get deleted as expected. I'm using the latest Dovecot 2.3.11.3 / Pigeonhole 0.5.11. Any idea why this is

sieve.before script is taking preceedence over user defined rules
Hello, In my current setup, I have a spam filter upstream that adds a specific header - X-Spam-Level on every incoming mail. Based on this level, the mail will be moved to the user spam folder using sieve by doing "fileinto :create 'spam';" Unfortunately, some legitimate email may end up in this spam folder, so I have kind of a whitelist that performs an explicit keep over

plus-address delivery
Forgive me, if this has been previously discussed. I researched as best I could. I couldn't find anyone mentioning it. Please treat me as a newbie. I've recently set up postfix, amavisd-new/SpamAssassin, and dovecot. All three utilize a user database in a MySQL db (on the same host). So far, so good. The problem: I wanted amavisd-new to deliver an e-mail above the

OOM condition with file-4.17-9.0.1.el5
Hello all, We just encountered several serious Out of Memory Problems caused by the file 4.17-9.0.1.EL5 utility on our mail Gateway. CentOS 5.1 kept it self alive by killing it parent process Amavisd-new. Manually restarting Amavisd-new and flushing the mail queue caused same problem. Disabling file for the moment, caused Amavisd-new to fail, and also defer all mail. My quick and dirty
