Intel G33 Compatibility for Centos Server
Been running rock solid servers on Centos 3 and 4 for years but equipment is starting to die so it is time. I was thinking along the lines of an Intel Q6600 on an Asus P5K-VM mobo with the new G33 chipset utilizing SATA. Is anyone having success with this board or any of the G33 chipsets where I am not going to run into all kinds of install problems? I see these other threads of install

Asus P5K-VM & Centos 5.1 x86_64 freezes during yum install
Hello, I'm trying to complete a minimal install of Centos 5.1 x86_64 on a Core 2 Duo 2.2Ghz running on an Asus P5K-VM motherboard - yes, this means it's the G33 chipset. (you can stop laughing now) I'm installing to two SATA-disks setup with Software Raid-1. I've installed an Intel NIC that is detected during install and I'm able to complete the install itself - mind you I

Intel P35 / quad-core support for HPC applications
Hello all, Does anyone have experience with CentOS and the Intel P35 or G33 chipset? I've googled about and poked in the CentOS forums, but I've generally found questions without responses. I'm part of a university research group doing CFD (computational fluid dynamics). We're incrementally updating our computing power and have been looking at Intel quad-cores and the P35

Editing HowTos/InstallFromUSBkey
I'd like to ask for permission to edit HowTos/InstallFromUSBkey. There was a recent forum thread on using Windows tools to create an installation USB (https://www.centos.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?viewmode=flat&topic_id=44268&forum=55). I'd tried some suggested tools; see post no 20 in the thread. I'd like to edit the Wiki to reflect my results. Yves -- Yves

still no centos 6.4 live cd dvd available?
Hello, ? in the release announcement for centos 6.4 on march 9th, the 6.4-live cd/dvd was supposed to be released a few days after the centos 6.4 release. Meanwhile 6 weeks later i still can't find any live cd/dvd in the mirror repositories. Any hint when there is a 6.4. live cd available? I'd like to test centos 6.4 on several machines (x86_64) without foregoing installation. Thank you in

Alternative to audacity
What's a good, gui-based sound editor as an alternative to audacity (since that is not working right now due to conflicts in the gtk libraries in rpmforge)? Or is there another place whence one may retrieve audacity? I tried sourceforge, but the links there resolve to a broken download link or they are for 64-bit rpms. Thanks. mhr
