[Bridge] Transparently bridge Vlans to eth0
Hi,
I'm using Vlans in my network as a way of preventing
pier to pier communication - I only want nodes in the
network to talk to the gateway (a linux box).
I have successfully set up lots of sub interfaces
using the vconfig too, one for each vlan. What I would
like to be able to do is remove the ip address from
each of these subinterfaces eth0.x and bridge them to
eth0. I have successfully

Help with smartd
I have a system that is logging:
smartd /dev/sda currently unreadble (pending) sectors
smartd /dev/sda offline uncorrectable sectors
The box continues to run fine.
Doing "smartctl -H /dev/sda" says:
test result: PASSED
I have ran the "smartctl -t offline /dev/sda", after the 300+ seconds I
rebooted
and waited about 30 minutes and again got the above error, and smartctl

Samba 3.0.3 bugs
I have encountered some bunch of bugs in Samba 3.0.3 (downloaded today).
1. passdb.tdb doesn't creating automatically, creating zero-length file and
constantly reported "Failed to open TDB file passdb.tdb". I make to create it
manually through tdbtool (autoconvert when smbpasswd adding user). 3.0.2 has

GeForce 6600 GT up for grabs
Hello, list.
My server box recently popped, fizzled, and smoked. As such, I'm
salvaging bits from it. One of these is a PCI-E GeForce 6600 GT card.
Anyone want it? I'm in Sydney, Australia, and am unlikely to be in
Europe anytime soon. It shouldn't cost too much to ship there,
though.

Problems configuring an NVIDIA GeForce GT 520 with a 1366x768 screen
Hello people. This is the first time I write to this list. Today, I tried to
test the latest version of Nouveau in Ubuntu 11.04 Natty (as downloadable on
the PPA located at
https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat/+archive/x-updates). The screen
defaulted to 1024x768, but the full screen's resolution is
1366x768. I tried to change the maximum resolution via xorg.conf, but the OS
refused to start

hang with GeForce 8700M GT
Distribution: none - building on LFS
graphics card: GeForce 8700M GT
Nouveau installed as per? /wiki/installNouveau so kernel is 3.5.0-rc5+
When I type startx, the screen cycles endlessly through red, green, blue and white.
Only Alt+sysRQ+b works. Everything else is dead.
I've enclosed Xorg.0.log. I couldn't attach dmesg as well because it would exceed 100 KB.
I can post it if

[Bug 84721] [NVC1] Nvidia Geforce GT 630 using nouveau on 3.16 kernel. dangerous Fan speed
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=84721
--- Comment #10 from Krzysztof Katowicz-Kowalewski <vnd at vndh.net> ---
As far as I've checked, the problem appeared in 3.15 kernel. I've tried
hardened-sources-3.14.29 and there's no problem with the fan, at least in auto
mode. But since you change the mode to manual (echo 1 > pwm1_enable), the fan
gets mad as in 3.15

@r004, I had the same problem with my system and I've made little
investigation. Indeed the problem appeared in 3.15 and it's still there in
latest 3.18 kernel. For the quick and easy work-around use kernel 3.14 or
lower.
