R-Server remotecontrolled via browser-GUI
dear r-community,
currently i have a workflow as following:
data in online-MYSQL-database via .csv into R for analysis, results
back to mysql.
generating graphics for reports also.
that's ok, but i need some process-optimization.
i'd like to run r directly on the webserver. analysis should work
automatically, after the appropriate r-script was selected in a
browser-gui for R.

CTRL-C behaviour with RODBC on Solaris2.8
After loading the RODBC package version 1.1-7, Ctrl-C changes its
behaviour and is quitting R and returning to the (unix-)command prompt
on the solaris2.8 platform here. Here's what happened before and after
loading RODBC

Embedding R and registering routines
Hello,
The use of .Call and the like all depend on loading shared libraries and
registering routines from it. Also, .Primitive and .Internal depend on
routines being registered in the R binary. And applications that embed R
can override routines declared in Rinterfac.h, but is there a way for an
application embedding R to register other routines defined in the
application without loading a

Request to open up getConnection to embedded interface
Hello all,
I would like to request that getConnection() and the struct Rconn
declarations be added to the R embedded interface. Here's why.
It's common in CGI scripts for web applications to direct stdin, stdout,
and stderr map to reading from the browser, writing to the browser, and
writing to a web log file respectively; very nice and neat. However,
things get a little hairy once

valid BasicAA behavior?
Hi Hal,
In that case what is the best way to query whether there is a loop carried dependence between B[j] and A[j] at i-loop level?
We were operating under the assumption of 'conservatively correct' behavior of alias analysis in the function scope?
Thanks,
Pankaj

missing simplification in ScalarEvolution?
Hi Sanjoy,
Thanks for the reply!
Your approach sounds good to me!
I think 1) is legal as address wraparound in unsigned range doesn't make sense given a positive offset, but I am not sure.
I think umax will not be added if we can prove the predicate as known.
I am not sure whether umax will get simplified if we add nuw to the expressions.

glm binomial logit
Hi All,
I am using "glm" function to build logistic regression. I noticed that glm
function glm function is computing many other statistics which are not
required for our analysis. As our dataset is very big and we have to run
logistic regression on several samples the run time drastically increases
if all those statistics are computed. Is these any way to skip computation

matching matrix columns to a vector
I need help with (hopefully) just one more thing. I have been fussing with this for quite some time and have decided just to give up and ask! I want to match a column in a matrix to a vector. I found a "which" command that I thought would be helpful as it does the following:
> g=c(1,5,3,2,7)
> which(g==5)
[1] 2
As the above gave which placement in the g vector corresponded to

JDF library in wine?
Hello all,
I wonder if there is a way to set up the so-called JDF library
required by several Adobe software? I haven't been able to find out
what it is, nor whether wine has any way to set this up, or even if I
can copy windows DLL's over.
I can get Adobe Acrobat 7.0 to run, for example, but many actions fail
with the error "cannot initialize JDF library".
Any enlightenment

I don't have cycles for this right now, but if you file a bug I can
give this a shot when I have time later. Even in the best case this
will have to at least wait until end of April because I'm leaving for

R-RApache to develop Knowledge Base
Hi all,
I need your opinion about using R-Rapache to build a knowlegde base to
bioinformatics field.
I have copious amount of genotype information (some few million records)
and would like to store it in MySQL database. Then, using RMySQL connector
I would like to use it for further analysis using R over a web interface.
The web interface which I am thnking off, just does not serve the purose of

valid BasicAA behavior?
My understanding is that alias analysis returns results in the function scope, not in loop scope.
Since both the phis access both global arrays, that should results in BasicAA conservatively returning MayAlias.
I debugged this a little bit and narrowed it down to the section of the code in BasicAAResult::aliasPHI() which has this comment-
// Analyse the PHIs' inputs under the assumption

I am trying to set up a RApache server on my Ubuntu 8.04. I have installed
apache2, R-2.7.0, and the RApache plugin. Both Apache and R seem to work
fine, but whenever i try to use the plugin i get this error: C stack usage

I have tried to recompile apache2, R, and RApache, but i keep getting the
error. The weird thing is, i had exactly the same problem when i installed

Would it be possible for you to implement this?
You know the codebase better than I do.
