Error in setwd(outDir) : cannot change working directory
I installed R on my Windows laptop in C:\Program Files\R\R-2.15.2 and am able to open RGUI (640bit), see packages and run commands. However, when I test the installation and run the basic tests and all the tests on the standard and recommended packages i.e.: library("tools") testInstalledBasic("both") testInstalledPackages("base", errorsAreFatal

Behavior of --install-tests and testInstalledPackage
Hello, I'm writing a script that automates the testing of reverse dependencies of a package. I found the function testInstalledPackage in the tools package, which seems to do what I want. However, when I use it for a source package that was installed with --install-tests, I've noticed that only the actual test files (e.g. located in inst/tests) are available and run. In other words the

Windows 7 installation issues
I installed R version 2.15.0 under C:/ on a PC running Windows 7.  When I load library("tools") to test the installation and then run the command testInstalledPackages("base"), I get the following error: Error in setwd(outDir): cannot change working directory. I have set up the R shortcut to run it as administrator. [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Building 2.9.0 on Solaris 10 U6 x86
I've run into a number of problems. I'm not sure where they belong, so I thought I'd send it here in hope someone will send them where they do belong. It mostly seems to be either errors in the autoconf input or system header weirdness. There was one genuine compiler bug when compiling saveload.c which google resolved (add "-xunroll=1" ). -liconv is missing from LIBS in

infinite recursion during package installation with methods, setAs
I ran into a problem recently trying to update a package which uses S4 methods using a recent beta of R. I think I can reproduce it with a simple example. I have package called `testpkg' in directory testpkg/. In the R/ subdirectory of testpkg/ I have a file called testpkg.R which contains the following two lines: setClass("testpkg", representation(pts = "list"))

R CMD check: unknown option ‘--outdir==RCHECK’
Dear R devel I am experiencing a problem using R CMD check. I tried to specify the argument outdir, but get every time the error message: Warning: unknown option ‘--outdir==RCHECK’ This happens both on R 2.15.2 Linux, as well as R 3.0.1 Windows, with latest Rtools. Is it just that I am not passing the argument the right way, or is there an issue with R CMD check? I tried to write the argument

Possible setClassUnion Unloading Issue
I'm encountering a problem caused by class unions from unloaded packages that are referenced by the still-loaded subclasses. In essence, when the class union is loaded initially, it registers itself as a super class of the component classes in the S4 cache. When the package the class union lives in is unloaded, it does not undo that registration. Here is an MRE of the problems it causes:

possible bug R CMD check: No space(s) allowed after \VignetteDepends{}
R CMD check gives an error when a vignette entry %\VignetteDepends{} has any extra space at the end. Maybe this is by design, but I found it confusing. Changing the function "vignetteMetaRE" in tools package could solve the problem. I.e. vignetteMetaRE <- function(tag) paste("[[:space:]]*%+[[:space:]]*\\\\Vignette", tag,"\\{([^}]*)\\}", sep = "")

R CMD check --outdir=path gives unknown option '--outdir'
For 'R CMD check', it appears that option '--outdir' is not recognized and generates warning "unknown option '--outdir'". R CMD check --help says: Usage: R CMD check [options] pkgs [...] Options: [...] -o, --outdir=DIR directory used for logfiles, R output, etc. (default is 'pkg.Rcheck' in current directory,

Re: [Astlinux-users] British English Female files ready for download
Mark, While these samples are pretty good they do not work "out of the box" - there are a couple of issues: 1. the samples are 44100 samples/second and Asterisk needs them to be at 8000 samples/second. This is what happens if you prune out all of the Amercian voicemail prompts and substitute yours: Asterisk 1.2.7, Copyright (C) 1999 - 2006 Digium, Inc. and others. Created by Mark

puzzling RODBC error
Dear all, I'm trying to connect to an MSAccess database (ArcGIS personal geodatabase). I keep getting an error about the channel when using sqlQuery(). However, sqlTables() does not complain about the channel and lists all tables in the database. If I try sqlFetch(), then R crashes. I'm happy to hear suggestions on how to solve this. Best regards, Thierry > MDB <-

pdf-printer
Hi, I recently migrated from samba3 to samba4. On the samba3 server I had a "printer" that converted pcl6 to pdf. I tried to make a similar printer in samba4, but it's not working. Not working means the printed document is nowhere to be found. This is the section in smb.conf : [papyrusPDF] comment = Papyrus-to-PDF printer path = /var/spool/samba # guest ok = Yes

How to set directory Rscript runs in/Sweave output directory
Hello I am using Sweave to generate some pdf reports using R on a Windows platform and would like to control the output directory that the generated .tex file goes to. Basically I use the following commands in a batch file: set outdir=c:/output/1234 Rscript -e Sweave('C:/pathpathpath/script.Rnw') Which produces script.tex Sweave has the option of specifying an output directory for
