Dovecot can't connect to mysql
Hi. I've just compiled dovecot-1.0.alpha5 with mysql support.from freebsd
ports (FreeBSD 6.0-RELEASE). It looks like dovecot has problems connecting
to mysql. In the log I'm getting:
dovecot: Feb 24 16:57:41 Error: auth-worker(default): mysql: Connect failed

Replication Slave is not auto-creating domain/user folders
Hey all,
I'm experiencing a weird and annoying issue with my 2-node dovecot
replication setup.
The setup is based on virtual users in a pgsql database, which is
replicated from the master to a slave node. For the mails I rely on
the dovecot builtin replication which has been working great for me
thus far.
However I noticed something was off when looking through my journal

smbpasswd question
Do you have to enable encrypted passwords for smbpasswd to work? I
have yet to enable encryption because I wanted to test everything
first, but have enabled 'update encrypted = Yes' so that this will
update the smbpasswd file. I also have 'unix password sync = Yes'.
However, I cannot get smbpasswd to change the passwords, either by
user or root. Any suggestions?

unexpected behaviour of sub() / usage of regexp
Dear R users,
the way I understand the documentation of sub() and regexp the following code:
sub('[[:digit:]]{1,2}', '', '9ewww')
... should yield:
'ewww'
It returns, however:
'www'
Why is this the case? My code should just substitute 1 (minimum) or up to 2 (maximum) digits, i.e. numbers and not the 'e' in the string. Do I misinterpret

On a drbd Primary node, when attempting to mount our cluster partition:
sudo mount -t ocfs2 /dev/drbd1 /cluster

We then call:
sudo dpkg-reconfigure ocfs2-tools
Setting cluster stack "o2cb": OK
Starting O2CB cluster ocfs2: OK
And all is well:

[LLVMdev] Relocation issue with jump tables in ELF object files on X86_64
(llvm 2.6)
We have an application where we are using LLVM to generate ELF object files for X86_64. At runtime we load these objects files into memory using our own ELF loader.
Everything is working except for the jump tables.
The ELF emitter is generating JMPQ instructions using X86::reloc_absolute_word_sext relocations which we are unable to patch to the jump table in the .rodata segment

Dovecot imaptest on RHEL4/GFS1, RHEL6/GFS2, NFS and local storage results
We have done some benchmarking tests using dovecot 2.0.12 to find the best
shared filesystem for hosting many users, here I share with you the results,
notice the bad perfomance of all the shared filesystems against the local
storage.
Is there any specific optimization/tunning on dovecot for use GFS2 on
rhel6??, we have configured the director to make the user mailbox persistent

Storing p-values from a glm
Hi,
for example one could do it this way:
v <- summary(fit)$coefficients[,4]
the coefficient attribute is a matrix, and with the "4" you refere to the
pvalue (at least in lm - don't know if summary(glm) produces sligthely
different output).
to skip the intercept (1st row): v <- summary(glmfit)$coefficients[-1,4]
hope this helps,

"isolinux.bin missing or corrupt" when booting USB flash drive in old PC
Hi,
i am looking now at the code which i assume loads the rest of isolinux.bin.
The entry point for program execution from the MBR is obviously at
http://git.zytor.com/syslinux/syslinux.git/tree/core/isolinux.asm#n186
(Do i get it right that this is the Intel syntax ? (Gronfff))
If POP yields the victim of the most recent not yet popped PUSH, then
this does not look correctly coordinated

ANN: scoped_proxy plugin
ScopedProxy uses with_scope and proxy objects to make it easy to find and
count different types of records.
Example:
class Person < ActiveRecord::Base
scoped_proxy :minor, :conditions => ''age <= 17''
scoped_proxy :adult, :conditions => ''age >= 18''
scoped_proxy :old, :conditions => ''age >= 70''
scoped_proxy :male,
