Installing 6.8 from DVD1.iso, changes
Downloaded 6.8 DVD1.iso, dd to stick. Went through same selections I have gone through since 6.2, only this time it got to the end and stated it couldn't find rear, which is under "backup client". OK, try it again without rear. This time it's yum-plugin-ovl from base (?). Then chrony, also in base (?). Then flightrecorder, libreswan, at least 2 of openmpi & co. and

Well said that I am absolutely new, I would know the things in the course of time, since it is different from my daily job....... Can one please let me know about the difference between the two DVD torrents:

--timeout=... lesson learned...
I thought other might benefit from this lesson learned and thought it maybe should be added to the man-pages. I thought my network connection was glitchy and hence set rsync up for --timeout=120 but I found out that I was actually causing the glitch with this script: #! /bin/sh - while true; do rsync -avz --progress --timeout=120 --delete /media/rsync_gb01/movies/ myserver:movies; sleep 120; done

Hi, I have a machine with a BIOS that does not permit DVD installation. It accepts everything else including some old superseded media types. Is it possible to download C6 combined parts 1 and 2 not using Torrent ? I have an aversion to using anything that comes from unknown sources, as used by Torrent. Thank you. -- Regards, Paul. That is, are the files on each DVD unique such that I won't be overwriting any files from DVD1 when doing the DVD2 copy? Will pointing a CentOS

MS Flight Simulator?
Anybody had any luck getting MS flight simulator running? I'm running Ubuntu 7.10 on Intel and got to missing the Winders flight simulators after someone just gave me FS-X. It starts to install fine until it asks for the second DVD, which it never sees. When I click the Retry button, it keeps coming back with "Insert Disk #2." Any ideas? Thanks, Gerry -------------- next part
