I have data that looks like below and I would like to re-order the values within the "date" column. I would like to have each year organized like so: Sep-71 Oct-71 Nov-71 Dec-71 Jan-71 Feb-71 Mar-71 Apr-71 May-71 Jun-71 Jul-71 Aug-71 Sep-72 Oct-72 etc... Is there any way I can order the column in my own fashion and just move Sep-Dec to the beginning of each year? I am planning on doing

Independent variables omitted in lm and glm
Dear List, Some independent variable were missing in calculation using lm and glm (gaussian). (X= Y1+Y2+…..+Y16, Independent number: 16 variable) However, those variables did work well in cor(X, Y) respectively. str(dataframe) was also run to ensure that the variables were all numbers. Moreover, the missing variables were different in lm and glm. In lm, 3 factors were not taken into

Interpreting GLM coefficients
Hi all, I?m fitting GLM?s and I can?t interprete the coefficients when I run a model with interaction terms. When I run the simpliest model there is no problem: Model1<-glm (Fishes ~ Year + I(Year^2) + Kind.Geographic + Kind.Fishers + Zone.2 + Hours + Fishers + Month, family = poisson(log)) # Fishes, Year, Hours, and Fishers are numeric, Kind.Geographic, Kind.Fishers, Zone.2 and

Dear R-experts, I am struggling with the following problem, and I am looking for advice from more experienced R-users: I have a data frame with 2 identifying variables (comn and mi), and an output variable (x). comn is a variable for a company and mi is a variable for a month. comn<-c("abc", "abc", "abc", "abc", "abc", "abc",

Library without malloc
Dear all, I am trying to use the Speex library pre-processor, I only need the VAD and Echo Canceller. I am using a STM32F103 processor, but I am using a tiny OS and it doesn't allow to use malloc. Is there a version of the library that will work without the need of using malloc? Obviously I will use all the time the same parameters, like 8kHz sampling rate, 160 frame... I will appreciate

Addressing the problem of noisy GPUs under Nouveau
Hi Martin, I was asked to clarify a few things: (1) Are all the user reports of loud fans on Fermi-era GPUs? (2) When the VBIOS POSTs the card, it loads initial ucode onto the Falcon processor (PMU), which will do basic fan management on its own. We call this init ucode "IFR" (Init From ROM). nvidia.ko will restore the IFR ucode when unloaded. I assume the loud fan symptom occurs

Idiom question - assertions which aren''t in tests
All, Although I''ve been keeping an eye on Ruby for several years now, I don''t have a huge amount of experience with it. So please forgive me if I''m missing something obvious. I''m in the process of writing my first really "serious" Rails app and would appreciate your advice. I am wondering if there is a standard idiom for including assertions in

Why Rails + mongrel_cluster + load balancing doesn''t work for us and the beginning of a solution
We have been searching for a Rails deployment architecture which works for us for some time. We''ve recently moved from Apache 1.3 + FastCGI to Apache 2.2 + mod_proxy_balancer + mongrel_cluster, and it''s a significant improvement. But it still exhibits serious performance problems. We have the beginnings of a fix that we would like to share. To illustrate the problem, imagine a
