chaining support
Hi, An issue that's been cropping up recently is chaining support. We discussed this a bit at FOMS 2008, and there are some open issues. There was talk of making some skeleton-like metadata that spans chain boundaries (or perhaps putting into skeleton a "chain identifier"). Other things that need to be specced out: * edits vs. playlists: how to distinguish between chains that have

Concordant und Discordant Paars of Logistic Regression
Hallo there, can anymore show me how to get results about konkordant und diskordant paars (Sommer-D, Gudman-Krustal-Gama, Kendall-Tau-a) within a logistic regression) in R? Thanks a lot. MT [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Outliers in Binary Logistic Regressions
Hallo folks, I know I should not ask the same question again. But I have a problem I cannot solve and without the solution I am stuck and lost, unable to get along with my work! Someone suggested I should try the code below in order to eliminate the outliers from my data. I did as I was told, but I got a negative reply. The code did not function. I am including it here so that, if possible,

[LLVMdev] Generating executable by llc.
is it possible in llvm infrastructure to integrate an actual linker with llc? rather than using the native linker. Can it be done by adding a Module pass? How difficult it would be to read-in and link the traditional COFF/ELF object files with this integrated linker? I am looking to do something like this: a.c, b.c ----> llvm-gcc ---> a.bc, b.bc ---> llvm-link ---> combined.bc ,

plotting missing data patterns
I have one other problem and then I'll stop and get back to writing. I want to plot a missing data matrix (the R matrix a la Little and Rubin) to graphically depict where the missing data lie in the matrix. Some statistical packages produce a graphical depiction of the missing data patterns by plotting the matrix, color-coding the plot with contrasting colors for either missing or

graph with 15 combinations
Dear R helpers, I have a data set with 4 types (W, C, E & S). Now I have values for all types plus all possible combinations (the order is unimportant): W, C, WC, E, WE, CE, WCE, S, WS, CS, WCS, ES, WES, CES & WCES. Ideally I would like to represent everything in one graph and as concise as possible. Drawing 4 circles and depicting it as overlap just gives me 13 out of the 15

(no subject)
Hello all, I have a very large file (280k lines) containing three comma separated variables. The first variable is a 0 or 1 depicting a pass or fail. The other two are X and Y coordinates. Is there a good way I can represent this data in a chart/plot form other than using a 3d histogram? If I need to use the histogram, should I base my chart off the example contained in the RGL package? Thanks a

Epi Info
Hello: Does anybody knows if Epi Info, from CDC (www.cdc.gov/epiinfo) runs on Wine? I did try AppDB first but there are no entries for Epi Info. Epi Info is a data base for epidemiology and public-heath developed by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (USA) and heavilly used in the world. It is based on Access 97 or 2000 witch I found in Frank's Corner AppDB. Thank you, Gerson

How to effectively remove Outliers from a binary logistic regression in R
Hallo there, greetings from Germany. I have a simple question for you. I have run a binary logistic model, but there are lots of outliers distorting the real results. I have tried to get rid of the outliers using the following commands: remove = -c(56, 303, 365, 391, 512, 746, 859, 940, 1037, 1042, 1138, 1355) MIGRATION.rebuild <- glm(MIGRATION, subset=remove)

OT: Sieve + Forward as Attachment
I know that this is technically not a Dovecot problem; however, I was wondering if anyone knew if 'sieve' had been updated with the ability to 'forward as attachment' a received document. I believe it has the ability to forward a document; however, I need the ability to forward it as an attachment if possible. Also I believe, somewhat due to my asking for them, that sieve exits

Legend Truncated Using filled.contour
Hey everyone, I'm working on a contour plot depicting asymptomatic prevalence at varying durations of infectiousness and force of infection. I've been able to work everything out except for this one - my legend title keeps getting cut off. Here's what I have: filled.contour(x=seq(2,30,length.out=nrow(asym_matrix)), y=seq(1,2,length.out=ncol(asym_matrix)), asym_matrix, color =

KS Package Selection
My ks file has just Base which obviously pulls in a few other things I don't want like dialup support etc. System-config-kickstart doesn't let you specifically drill down what options are in each group. Is there a resource depicting exactly what packages are in each of the groups so I could write out specifically what I want? Thanks! jlc

Adding circles or ellipses to graphs
Hello, I'm developing an ordination using metaMDS (package vegan). The analysis identifies 3 distinct groups that I'd like to define by either adding circles or ellipses to help identify the groups. The data set is a spatial temporal data base depicting change in each of 4 areas over 3 time periods. I can add lines that would link each of the time - x - area trajectories, but

to check if a group of values is randomly distributed
Dear list, I have 603 numbers depicting range sizes of birds in Japan. I would like to learn if the 603 range sizes are randomly distributed or not, in order to check if they meet mid-domain effects. Please kindly advise if any R package or function can check the fit. Also, any more references are highly appreciated. Thank you Elaine [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Wine AppDB etiquette ?
Dont know if iys the done thing, but I contacted the writer of an app I maintain in AppDB, to point out that his app runs perfectly under Linux and Wine. Straught away he modified his webpage to include the fact, and a link to the AppDB page for his application. Cheers, Ron. -- I prefer the most unjust peace to the most righteous war.

I am interested in graphically depicting the pre & post values for a factor variable called 'decision' which has 4 values : nusm, fit, unsound & unfit. An example of a pre and post variable is:

glmnet with binary predictors
Hi Everybody! I must start with a declaration that I am a sparse user of R. I am creating a credit scorecard using a dataset which has a variable depicting actual credit history (good/bad) and 41 other variables of yes/no type. The procedure I am asked to follow is to use a penalized logistic procedure for variable selection. I have located the package "glmnet" which gives the complete
