HP Proliant DL360 G7
Hello,
Has anyone out there been able to qualify the Proliant DL360 G7 for your Solaris/OI/Nexenta environments? Any pros/cons/gotchas (vs. previous generation HP servers) would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

8-15 TB storage: any recommendations?
Hello everyone,
This is not directly related to CentOS but still: we are trying to set up
some storage servers to run under Linux - most likely CentOS. The storage
volume would be in the range specified: 8-15 TB. Any recommendations as far
as hardware?
Thanks.
Boris.

Problem detecting HP Tape Drive
Hello
I do have problem using Linux with an external HP tape drive. The
server platform is also an HP Server; the server is an HP ML350 G4,
and the Tape drive is a HP Storage Works Ultrium 448 - 1U
Rack-mountable.
HP Ultrium documentation says two drivers should be automatically
up, sym53c8xx for LSI SCSI interface "st" for tape and /proc/scsi/scsi

Self-heal's behavior: problem on "replace" -- it leaves garbage.
Hi.
I'm using GlusterFS v1.3.12 (glusterfs-1.3.12.tar.gz) via FUSE (fuse-2.7.3glfs10.tar.gz) on CentOS 5.2 x86_64 (Linux kernel 2.6.18-92.el5) now.
The nodes are HP Proliant DL360 G5 (as GlusterFS Client) and DL180 G5 (as GlusterFS Servers).
And the connections are all TCP/IP on Gigabit ethernet.
Then, I tested self-heal and I found a technical problem about "replace" -- self-heal

Sorting alphanumerically
I'm trying to sort a DATAFRAME by a column "ID" that contains
alphanumeric data. Specifically,"ID" contains integers all preceeded
by the character "g" as in:
g1, g6, g3, g19, g100, g2, g39
I am using the following code:
DATAFRAME=DATAFRAME[order(DATAFRAME1$ID),]
and was hoping it would sort the dataframe by ID in the following manner
g1, g2, g3, g6, g19,

Nice chassis for ZFS server
Hi,
I just came across this box [0] (McKay Creek). Seems to be exceptional
building material for ZFS based NAS/iSCSI unit. I especially liked the
two extra system disks hidden inside the box !
Any one have an experience with these ?

How to write a loop?
Dear R helpers,
Following is a R script I am using to run the Fast Fourier Transform. The csv files has 10 columns with titles m1, m2, m3 .....m10.
When I use the following commands, I am getting the required results. The probelm is if there are 100 columns, it is not wise to define 100 commands as fk <- ONS$mk and so on. Thus, I need some guidance to write the loop for the STEP A and

Do systems have to be IDENTICAL for live migration?
I have several systems running 64bit SLES11SP1. I''m trying to Live
Migrate between a couple of them and it''s not working, although the same
VM will run on each one starting it manually.
The system are not identical. Would one expect migration to work
between these two systems? See below.
Thanks,

Hardware raid LSI Megaraid not working since Centos 6.6
Happy new year !
We have a SuperMicro server with a LSI MegaRAID 9260-4i controller.
Since Centos 6.6 update (kernel 2.6.32-504), the controller doesn't
initialize at boot. Reverting to kernel 2.6.32-431 allows server to boot
fine.
The server can't boot due to a bug in LSI megaraid module. Boot log ends
by a lot of lines:
RESET_GEN2: retry=xxx, hostdiag=a4
I tried Centos 6.6

SYSLINUX 3.85 released
Syslinux 3.85 is a bug fix and minor new feature release. The biggest
change is undoubtedly that gPXELINUX is now considered feature
complete, and should be able to be a drop-in for PXELINUX for all uses.
Special thanks to Intel Corporation, my current employer, for their
support for my Syslinux work.
Changes in 3.85:

HP ProLiant DL380 G5
I have CentOS 6.x installed on a "HP ProLiant DL380 G5" server. It
has eight 750GB drives in a hardware RAID6 array. Its acting as a
host for a number of OpenVZ containers.
Seems like every time I reboot this server which is not very often it
sits for hours running a disk check or something on boot. The server
is located 200+ miles away so its not very convenient to look at. Is

When I run LLC with option "-O0 -march=sparc" on following testcase,
