cluster analysis in R
I have two issues.
1-I am trying to use morphology to identify gender. I have 9 variables, both
continuous and categorical. I was using two-step cluster analysis in SPSS
because two-step could deal with different types of variables. But the
output tells me that an animal is in cluster 1 or 2, it does not give me a
probability (ex. 0.70 cluster 2). I also did not want to specify that I
want two

Bayesian Analysis in GJR-GARCH (p, d) model with Student-t innovations
Good day Ma'am/Sir, I am Resa Mae R. Sangco a Master of Statistics student
from the MSU- Iligan Institute of Technology located in Iligan City,
Philippines. I am currently doing my thesis entitled ?Bayesian Analysis in
GJR-GARCH (p,d) model with Student-t innovations". In finding my posterior
distribution since it is hard to integrate, I use Markov Chain Monte Carlo

getting started on Bayesian analysis
I am an economist who decided it's high time that I learned some
Bayesian statistics. I am following An Introduction to Modern
Bayesian Econometrics by T. Lancaster.
The book recommends using BUGS, but I wonder if there are any
alternatives which are free software and fully integrated to R (which
I have been using for more than two years for numerical computations.)
I would like to learn

Bayesian Relative Survival Analysis in R?
Hi all,
May i know does R has packages or code to run "Bayesian Relative Survival Analysis"? I have look through Bayesian Survival Analysis(2001) by Joseph George Ibrahim<http://www.google.com/search?tbo=p&tbm=bks&q=inauthor:%22Joseph+George+Ibrahim%22>, Ming-Hui Chen<http://www.google.com/search?tbo=p&tbm=bks&q=inauthor:%22Ming-Hui+Chen%22>, Debajyoti

Bayesian data analysis recommendations
Dear all,
I am trying to learn Bayesian inference and Bayesian data analysis, I
am new in the field. Would any experts on the list recommend any good
sites or materials for beginners?
My approach is to learn and understand the theory first, then program
on my own using R, though I see there are already packages.
appreciate any help, thanks in advance!

R capabilities: Bayesian estimation, Covariance Structure Analysis
I'm contemplating doing Bayesian estimation in R but am wondering how
Bayesian estimation on R stacks up against BUGS. Is R reasonably complete,
more difficult to use,...? Anyone care to share their experience?
Also, am I right to conclude that covariance structure analysis &
confirmatory factor analysis are not available in R? (I can't find them
with help)

compute probabilities on a Bayesian Network
Deal R Users,
I'm trying to find out how can I compute probabilities on a Bayesian
Network using R. The Bayesian Network I modelled is shown at
http://www.dsr.inpe.br/~mello/1727/BNgrapmodel.png and I'd like to know
how can I proceed (commands on R) to answer questions like: (1) what is
the probability of S=T given C=T, L=T, R=F, H=F and D=F; or (2) what is
the probability of S=T

Bayesian network
HeLLo,
I'm new in R, I would like to use it for diagnostics with bayesian network,
I want to know how can I calculate inference and if can I enter my
probability tables like logical or arithmetic equation,
Thanks.

How to perform Bayesian analysis in R?(corrected)
Dear Members i'm trying to access different packages used for Bayesian
analysis, but
failed to integrate after making the likelihood of the model the model
like this
a= exp(b)/summation(exp(b))
where 'b' = half of the natural log of 'a'
please If some one knows about this type of integration for posterior
distribution then pleae inform me

A log on Bayesian statistics, stochastic cost frontier, montecarl o markov chains, bayesian P-values
Dear friends,
Over the past weeks, I have been asking a lot of questions about how to
use R in Bayesian analysis. I am brand new to R, but I am very pleased with
it. I started with winbugs but I found winbugs to be a limited software, not
bad but has several limitations. By contrast, R allows the analyst to tackle
any problem with a huge set of tools for any kind of analysis. I love R. In

How do we obtain Posterior Predictive (Bayesian) P-values in R (a sking a second time)
Dear Friends,
According to Gelman et al (2003), "...Bayesian P-values are defined as
the probability that the replicated data could be more extreme than the
observed data, as measured by the test quantity p=pr[T(y_rep,tetha) >=
T(y,tetha)|y]..." where p=Bayesian P-value, T=test statistics, y_rep=data
from replicated experiment, y=data from original experiment, tetha=the
function

Spencer,
Obviously the problem is one of supersaturation. In view of that, are you
aware of the following?
