Survplot, Y-axis in percent
Hi I am a new fan of R after getting mad with the graphical functional in SPSS. I have been able to create a nice looking Kaplan Meyer graph using Survplot function. However I have difficulties in turning the y axis to percent instead of the default 0-1 scale. Further I have tried the function yaxt="n" without any results. Any help in this matter will be appreciated. The code is

Is there a way to change x and y axis tick mark inside plot()?
Dear R community, I am having trouble changing the tick marks on y-axis to every 5 units? I have the following: x <- c(12, 16, 6, 23, 27, 8, 5, 19, 23, 13, 16, 8) y <- c(29, 29, 23, 34, 38, 24, 22, 34, 36, 27, 33, 27) plot(x, y, pch=19) Should I change ylim=c(0,40), and then use axis()? I kept on thinking I can do everything inside plot(), but there is actually axis(), par(), ..., and

no y-axis
HI @ all, I'm looking for a simple solution to supress the y-axis - but only the drawn scale - not the values. Only the numbers should be displayed. I tried yaxt="n" but there everything of the y-axis is supressed. Labelling a second y-axis
Hi, I am using the following code as an example function to create multiple y-axes on one plot. I have it working fine however, I can't seem to add a label on the second (right) axis. I have tried adding ylab="y2" in the axis call but, that didn't work; any ideas? Thanks, Jesse Code: function() { par(las=1,xaxs="r",mai=c(1,0.75,1,1)) x<-1:10 y1<-x

2nd Y-axis text problem
Dear All, I'm having problems getting text to appear on a second y axis....because this can only be done within a plot statement and my attempts to add the label as text didn't work because the "locator" refers to the plot area.... Any thoughts greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Sion >par(mai=c(1,1,1,1.5)) >plot(time[DOY<230],Hmeas[DOY <

How do I ensure that the minimum value is always displayed on a y-axis in a plot?
Good day all, I'm trying to plot a figure and ensure that the minimum and maximum values are always displayed. However, the code below does not display the minimum value, no matter what I try. Could someone please help? Thanking you in advance, George. Code below for reproduction (apologies if the paste is too long) >blah [1] 0.41955516 0.37330949 0.37934005 0.38013805 0.40092939

changing y-axis intervals in a boxplot
Dear R-users, I'm a bit of a rooky in R and do not know how to change the y-axis intervals of a boxplot. The y-axis in my boxplot ranges from 0 to 100 which is fine. The problem is the interval level in between. Now it increases with steps of 20 but I'd like to have it changed by steps of 5. Anyone knows how to do this in R? I used the following code for producing this boxplot:

Boxplot in R
How to calculate the boxplots R? This question arises because we are building manually boxplots, we consulted various literature sources for calculations of the boxplot but our results differ from those generated by R, especially when calculating the whiskers. What is the procedure used by R to perform these calculations? Anyone can help us please? -- View this message in context:

Plot: Distance between tick and tick label on y-axis
Hello, I want to reduce the distance between my ticks and their labels. I managed to do it for the x-axis, but the y-axis puzzles me. Here's an example where there is no space between the x-asix ticks and labels. par(las=1) plot(runif(50), type="l",xaxt="n",yaxt="n",ylab="", bty="l") axis(2) axis(1,padj=-1.5) #However, axis(2,padj=-1.5)

Rotate values on Y axis
Hi, I have been working through one of the examples on the FAQ about rotating the labels on the x axis, I need to do the same but for the y axis. I have managed to change some of the code, but I am still not getting there, there is still something wrong. My syntax is as follows: > par(mar = c(5, 7, 4, 2) + 0.1) > plot(1 : 8, yaxt = "n", ylab = "") > axis(2,

Formatting of numbers on y axis
Hello all. I have the following: plot(salaries$yearID, salaries$salary, type='n', xaxt='n', xlab='', yaxt='n', ylab='') axis(1, at=unique(salaries$yearID), labels=unique(salaries$yearID), lwd=.25, tck=-0.05) axis(2, axTicks(2), format(axTicks(2), scientific = F)) Which nicely creates the Y axis with the raw numbers, which are in the range of .5 - 7

Secondary y axis
Hi I had a look at the help and previous discussions but I am still unable to solve these issues: 1 I have a set of air pressure data. I would like to plot a and b (both about 980-1000 millibar) and c, the difference (around 0-8 millibar). I use axis (4) to create a new axis (to the right) but I do not know how to assign c to the new axis which currently features the same values as the first
