NUT unable to resolve host despite DNS working.
Hello all, I have been having a problem with upsmon on Fedora 24 on boot.
NUT is configured as a netclient to a Raspbian NUT server. After boot up
upsmon repeatedly says "connect failed: No such host". It is not able to
connect at all until the service is bounced. This seems to indicate a name
resolution problem but shouldn't this auto correct once name resolution is
working properly

HP R1500 G2
I'm attempting to get a HP R1500 G2 UPS working with Solaris 10
connected via USB.
Thanks to Arnaud's patch to drivers/tripplite-hid.c found at
http://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermail/nut-upsuser/2010-February/005887.html
things mostly work.
upsc ups01 shows a couple of things that don't look quite right.

BCMXCP UPS driver 0.24 (2.6.1) Hangs
List:
I have an Eaton (Powerware) Model 5115 and am using the bcmxcp_usb driver
on a OpenBSD 4.9 system. The upsdrvctl start appears to work and I get a
message in my daemon log stating that it successfully started. I can
successfully start the upsd daemon. I get a successful start messaage from
the upsmon program, but it soon complains of 'stale' data. It looks like

Getting 'Data stale' error with bcmxcp_usb for a PowerWare 5115 on OSX
Good evening,
I tried getting this to work a couple years back but didn't have
enough time to do all the debugging that was needed (apologies
to the devs who tried to help at that time). It's working much
better now, but I'm still not able to get an answer from upsc.
Can anyone help me work out why I'm getting the error when
querying with upsc:

bcmxcp_usb can not communicate with Eaton Powerware 5110
Hi,
I have set up a RaspberryPi computer to do monitoring of two UPSs. One
is an MGE evolution 800, one is an Eaton Powerware 5110. The MGE was
being monitored by another Linux (Ubuntu 12.04) computer, and I just
copied and pasted in the relevant nut config and it works just fine with
nut.
I've tried to set up the Powerware 5110 with nut, and the bcmxcp_usb
driver can't communicate

Power ware 5110 "not the right sequence received"
Hi All,
I have a powerware UPS 5110 connected to an openindiana server with the
bcmxcp_usb driver and running nut 2.65 compiled and installed as root to
avoid permission issues.
On running the following debug code to test the UPS's communication it
fails at the same time with the following error.

Eaton PW5110 + nut-2.4.1 + OpenBSD
Hello,
I 'm trying to set up an Eaton PW5110 using nut-2.4.1 in OpenBSD, my
ups.conf follows :

driver = bcmxcp_usb
port = auto
desc = "Eaton PW 5110 (1500VA)"
My first attempt to run upsdrvctl ended up complaining about unimplemented
usb_clear_halt() in libusb. I patched libusb-0.1.12 with the following

NUT USB Delayed Communication
Hello,
Yes, "pollonly" is a driver option for certain devices (and relevant to
just some drivers).
Disconnects are probably relevant, at least to loss of connection (and
staying that way, with less agressive retries in NUT v2.7.4 and before).
There is a logged issue that "pollonly" mode might have trouble detecting a
disconnection/staleness, I'm not sure there's merit

can you please post the first 20 seconds running blazer_usb in debug mode,
ie:
$ sudo /lib/nut/blazer_usb -DDD -a cyberpower
aside from fixing the megatec situation, ensuring that you'll be able to run
the replacement is also to be considered ;-)
now, for the megatec issue, we need

NUT with Powerware 5125.
Hi,
Does anyone know how to make NUT works with Powerware 5125?
I already tried serial communication (genericups and bcmxcp) and USB
(usbhid-ups and bcmxcp_usb), but without success.
I'm using the latest version of NUT (2.6.5) under Debian amd64.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks.
Daniel

bcmxcp: stop whining (and log spamming)
corrupted checksums happen all the time with the 6-port serial card,
even when only using one port (and I don't give a shit about the other
ports, if anybody has a one-port laying around...)
so stop whining already.

Hi Michael,
thanks for your feedback! I'm cc'ing the NUT users list for info.
I've also added an entry for your device (Powerwalker Line Interactive VI
1400, using blazer_usb).
Can you please send back an upsc output, and at least check for the shutdown
behavior, if not already done:

Powerware 5125 works ?
Hi there.
At the moment I'm trying to get my HP T1500 XR (Powerware 5125) UPS to
work with NUT.
NUT registers that the UPS is on battery/online, but I just cant get the
program to shut down the computer
I'm using the original cable (thus I didn't enter anything in the
ups.conf file)
If I remove the cable and run the daemon/program the computer will
shutdown after x minutes defined in

NUT USB Delayed Communication
Hello,
On one hand, sorry to hear that higher polling frequency in upsmon did not
help. On another, question is if the driver gets the info (online state and
its changes) from device quickly enough.
Initially I meant for you to also try if the "pollonly" flag (in each
device section of ups.conf for usbhid-ups instances) would make a
difference?.. I'd expect data-transfer interrupts

gcc4 noise
Is anyone besides me using gcc 4.*.*? I noticed that NUT generates an
enormous amount of warning noise with that compiler, mostly due to
implicit casts between signed/unsigned pointer types. Any volunteers
to de-noise the code a bit? The easy way is to insert typecasts; the
better way is to actually take care about signedness. -- Peter
