DNS replication only working one way
I'm hoping this is the last issue I run into with bringing this new DC
online.
DNS replication is currently only working in one direction, from my old DC
to my new DC. Items added or changed in the RSAT of my new DC don't ever
make it over to the old DC.
I have turned up samba logging on each side to 3, and you can see the logs
below from the time I created a record on the new DC

Clients no longer updating DNS & unable to delete MX records
Hello,
After noticing some odd behavior on my domain, I realized that many of my
DNS records are incorrect and that clients are no longer properly updating
DNS. While looking into this, I also discovered that I am unable to delete
MX records via AD DNS Manager or samba-tool. Both tools "see" the record
but report it does not exist when I attempt to delete it. I can create new

So you suggest to contact the dc via hostname ...

Samba as AD-Controller: unable to update policies and call start scripts

I just tried to run "samba_dnsupdate --verbose --all-names" on the DC
and I got many "Failed nsupdate: 2" and at the end "Failed update of
21 entries".

S4rc5 configure warning - CHECK_SRVIDS control missing
Hello,
I'm receiving the following warning when building S4rc5 on CentOS 6.3. I
have installed the ctdb and ctdb-devel (1.0.114.3
) packages included with CentOS. The only thing I could find on Google is
someone with the same problem around a year ago, but that went unanswered.
Thanks for any help!

Unable to join a DC to a Site that doesn't already have a DC in that subnet
Hi all,
Am having problems adding a new DC to a Site that doesn't already have a DC
in the same subnet. Whenever I try and do a domain join specifying a nearby
DC in a different subnet I get this:

I'm using the production release of 3.0.0 and can not join a W2003 domain:

Samba AD - Different IP than the existing one assigned
?Ok, so now :
Content of /etc/hosts
127.0.0.1 localhost
172.31.6.15 adc1.transmitcorp.com adc1
Now, stop samba.
Cleanup current data and now setup samba and provision again.
cleanup /var/lib/samba /var/cache/samba
Rename smb.conf
Then provision again, the base is wrong so the AD-DB has wrong data.

Try this.
systemctl stop smbd nmbd winbind
systemctl disable smbd nmbd winbind
systemctl mask smbd nmbd winbind
systemctl unmask samba-ad-dc
systemctl enable samba-ad-dc
systemctl start samba-ad-dc
Reboot server.
Check again.

Hi, Thanks for helping.
Answers in line :

You should start 'samba' instead, and it will control starting smbd if required
Really big hint there, you are not starting

DsGetDomainControllerInfoW fails with level 2008+, works with 2003
Hello,
I stumbled on this problem while troubleshooting a time synchronization
problem. The Windows commands "w32tm /monitor" and "nltest /dclist:domain"
appear to both use the same call to query the domain for a list of domain
controllers. When the DC is Samba4 (2003 domain & forest level) these
commands complete successfully. After raising the levels to 2008 or 2008_R2

LDAP bind to AD fails
Yesterday I set up the pfsense-OpenVPN-Server to auth against the samba-AD

Now without a change I get errors and wonder why.
I used the IP as "host" and TCP-STARTTLS to port 389
