ia32-libs for 64 bit CentOS
Hi,
I've been trying to install Zimbra Desktop 7 on CentOS 5.5 using the usual perl script provided. The issue is, I get a warning that my system does not have ia32 libs. I dug a bit on google and found out that 'there is no such package as ia32 libs for Centos'. I also tried all the suggested work arounds like glibc & stuff, can anyone shed more light on this?
Oh, the zimbra

What is the recommended method to obtain Pan 0.136+ (with SSL) for Centos 6?
Q: What is the recommended method to obtain Pan 0.136+ (with SSL) for Centos 6?
I've been successfully using Pan 0.135 from the RPMForge repository
for about a year now:
$ yum --noplugins --showduplicates --enablerepo \* --disablerepo c6-media,\*-source,\*debug\* provides "*/pan"
==> 1:pan-0.135-1.el6.rf.x86_64 : The Pan Newsreader

lost connection during yum update
During today's big Centos 6 update I lost my connection to a machine during the
"yum update" and when I logged back in and ran yum update again it told me to
run yum-complete-transaction. When I ran yum-complete-transaction I got
screen after screen of "x is a duplicate with x" where x consists of a huge
list of packages.
"package-cleanup --dupes" gives me a

Good Anti-virus for Linux desktops and servers
Hi.
I'm look for an enterprise quality Anti-virus / Malware for my Linux
machines . Mostly Ubuntu on the desktop, CentOS and RHEL servers. I
must have real time scanning, on demand scanning, and centralized
management.
Is there anything out there that can do this ?

6.4 on old PC not connecting
On an old server (Dell PowerEdge SC1420, now without RAID)
I have CentOS 6.4 installed, up, and running -- but it
keeps failing to connect for some reason ....
NetworkManager applet 0.8.1 runs blue rings around in the
panel for a while, then reports itself disconnected. It also
offers a pseudo-choice, if I right-click, between Wired
Connection and eth0; in fact,

No ices for icecast ?
Hi, and a Happy New Year to everyone.
I have followed this tutorial to install icecast on Centos
5.5,
http://www.howtoforge.com/linux_webradio_with_icecast2_ices2
but cannot find the ices package for sending the audio
to icecast for it to stream.
I would like to send the data as mp3, if there is a suitable
program to do this.
Has anyone on the list done this on Centos?
Kind Regards,

shared cups printers disappeared
I have two computers, one with a HP printer on it and one with a Samsung
printer on it.
Both systems have their respective pritnters listed under
system-config-printer and have "enabled" "accepting jobs" and "shared" checked.
Up to a few days ago this worked fine. Suddenly I can't see either printer
from the other machine and as far as I know nothing has

Centos 6 - vnc - authentication is required to set the network proxy used for downloading packages
A window keeps popping up on my remote desktop stating "authentication is
required to set the network proxy used for downloading packages. An
application is attempting to perform an action that requires privileges.
Authentication as the super user is required to perform this action" and asking
for the root password. If I hit cancel it comes back several minutes later.

blue screen instead of login screen
I installed Centos 6.2/i386 on a machine last night with a 1920x1080 monitor.
The installer ran in graphical mode and looked fine. After the install was
finished I rebooted and ran through the "firstboot" stuff (set up user, etc)
with no problem and, again, it looked good.
After that, when I should have seen the gdm login screen, all I got was the
blue background but not the box with

screensaver: waiting for darkness
I'm using the default desktop for CentOS 6.
My screensaver is set for blank, 5 min, no locking.
In the seconds during which the screen fades to black,
I cannot make it come back.
Neither the keyboard nor moving and clicking the mouse has any affect.
Until the screen goes black, I cannot do anything with the computer.
How, if at all, can I change that?

Web server becoming unresponsive : high load
Hi,
I have a web server which is randomly becoming unresponsive. I've checked
for hardware problems with no luck :
- no ethernet errors
- no disk errors
- no memory errors
So far I've managed to point the trouble at the web server since if I
restart httpd (apache) it comes back to normal.
This is not a shared server so I control (or at least like to think of) what
is hosted so I have

unrar rpm package
Hi there --
I am running a server with the 5.6 64-bit distribution, and I am looking for an
unrar rpm package.
I have several repositories set up on the server which are the following:
base
updates
extras
centosplus
contrib
c5-testing
All are enabled. When I do a yum search for unrar, nothing comes up. Is there
another repository
that I should add to the list, or is there a particular website
