RWeka problem: java.lang.NoSuchMethodError
Hi,
I'm trying to use RWeka and followed the following example from the
RWeka manual.
============
## Use some example data.
w <- read.arff(system.file("arff","weather.nominal.arff",
package = "RWeka"))
## Identify a decision tree.
m <- J48(play~., data = w)

## Use 10 fold cross-validation.
e <- evaluate_Weka_classifier(m,

predict(): NoSuchMethodError
I am currently working on a code which clusters attributes from a data set,
then uses a linear regression model to predict NA values in the data set.
The code works for almost all cases, but then errors out on a case that
seems like it should work the same.
This is the line of code that is giving me the problem:
NewClusterData[j,att] <- predict(cl,newdata =

Java related (?) problems with RWeka
Hello all,
I am attempting to run an R script that makes use of RWeka. I am
running SuSE Linux 9.3 with Java 1.5.0_06, R version 2.2.1, Weka
3-4-7, and Rweka 0.2-1.
CLASSPATH="/usr/local/weka-3-4-7/weka.jar:/usr/local/JGR/JGR.jar"
I receive the error:

RBFNetwork in RWeka
Dear Forum,
I have installed and used various Weka functions in R - both already
available interfaces or created ones via make_Weka_classifier - without any
trouble. However, the RBFNetwork (RBF Neural Network) function is one that I
have not been able to call. I tried creating the R interface using RBF<-
make_Weka_classifier("weka/classifiers/functions/RBFNetwork"), and the

RWeka control parameters classifiers interface
Hello,
I have some trouble in achieving the desired parametrisation
for the weka classifier functions, using the package RWeka.
The problem is, that the functions
result=classifier(formula, data, subset, na.action, control = Weka_control(mycontrol))
do not seem to be manipulated by the mycontrol- arguments
Perhaps this should be resepected via the handlers- argument ,
but the

RWeka and naiveBayes
Hi
I'm trying to use RWeka to use a NaiveBayes Classifier(the Weka
version). However it crashes whenever there is a NA in the class
Gender
Here is the.code I have with d2 as the data frame.
The first call to NB doesn't make R crash but the second call does.
NB <- make_Weka_classifier("weka/classifiers/bayes/NaiveBayesSimple")
d2[,64]<-d2$Gender=="M"

How to save/load RWeka models into/from a file?
Hi,
I want to save a RWeka model into a file, in order to retrive it latter
with a load function.
See this example:
library(RWeka)
NB <- make_Weka_classifier("weka/classifiers/bayes/NaiveBayes")
model<-NB(formula,data=data,...) # does not run but you get the idea
save(model,file="model.dat") # simple save R command
# ...
load("model.dat") # load the model

Usage of rJava (.jcall) with Weka functions, any example?
Dear All,
I'd like to use Weka functions that are not implemented (do not have
interface) in RWeka, like the Remove function and others in the
future!
The .java() functionality is for that purpose but I haven't seen any
example with Weka functions. Could anyone give me hand in how to do
it? For instace if I want to use the
weka.filters.unsupervised.attribute.Remove?

Rattle loading String to Vector file from WEKA
Hi all,
I have been using WEKA to do some text classification work and I want to try
out R.
The problem is I cannot load the String to Vector ARFF files created by
WEKA's string parser into Rattle .
Looking at the logs I get something like:
/Error in scan(file, what, nmax, sep, dec, quote, skip, nlines, na.strings,
:
scan() expected 'a real', got '2281}'/

R Weka and cobweb
Hi,
I never use cobweb before and I'm quite new to this. I have a couple of questions around the cobweb implementation in R Weka. If you could supply answer or insight, I would really appreciate.
1. From Fisher's paper in 1987, it seems that Cobweb only deals with nominal data. In R Weka cobweb, is it allowed to accommodate real/continuous value?
2. My understanding is that Cobweb

Different level set when predicting with e1071's Naive Bayes classifier
Hi!
I'm using the Naive Bayes classifier provided by the e1071 package (
http://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/e1071) and I've noticed that the
predict function has a different behavior when the level set of the columns
used for prediction is different from the ones used for fitting. From
inspecting the predict.naiveBayes I came to the conclusion that this is due
to the conversion of

I've tried about everything and can't get it to work. Reproduceable code

R or weka
Hi, guys:
These days I keep using R and Weka to do data mining. I think my next
step is open the source codes so that I can "customrize them" and make
them better server my purpose. But now I kinda hesitate to do so b/c I
am really not sure which is better to start with. You know, both
require some time and I cannot clone myself to work on both:) If here
are some persons who used both

experimenting (like Weka Experimenter)
Hi. I am not that good at R but I was wondering if there is either a tool or a strategy for testing many different models in R in a batch. I have used something in Weka called the Experimenter interface which helps with doing this kind of thing.
Thank you.

Two issues: WEKA code in R // Probability Estimation Tree algorithms
Hi everyone,
this email basically pursues two distinct main goals. I appreciate any help!
First of all I was wondering if there is any possibility to get WEKA files (coded in Java) to run in R respectively RWeka. I first considered if it was possible with the Weka_interface implemented in RWeka but apparently it is not. Is there any way?
Secondly I am looking for implementations to produce

Why use numFold in evaluate_Weka_classifier of RWeka
Hi everyone,
I have a question about using RWeka package?
we know that instruction make_Weka_classifier that can help
us to build a model,and evaluate_Weka_classifier instruction
can help us to evaluate the performance of the model using on new data.
But I have a question about how to using the parameter numFold in
evaluate_Weka_classifier.Cross-validation means that using some parts

Help with Rails and postgres with sequence numbers (global?)
Hello,
I am building an Rails applications that has to integrate an legacy
system (lxoffice) (schema at:
http://www.lx-office.org/uploads/media/DB_Schema_2.1.1_R_393_17_03_2005_.pdf).
They somehow use global ids (global for some tables). I can not change
the schema and still I want to use Rails to access it and not pure SQL.
When I try to insert a record I get the following message:
