I' m a Gsoc Applier
Hello, I'm a student interested in the syslinux project of Gsoc.
And Isincerely hope to have the opportunity to apply the "Dynamic
linker/loader for modules" project.
But it seems the #syslinux channel is not so active and I can't contact
a mentor about that.
Could anybody help me?
Thank you!

Mismatch between code comments and reality in malloc.h
Hi Devs,
I've been doing some deep code diving and I seem to have found a discrepancy between code comments and reality. This difference could hint at a bug or performance degradation, but I doubt it. I thought to ask to get clarification.
In syslinux/core/mem/malloc.h, the comments and definition for arena_header, ARENA_PADDING and free_arena_header are:
/*

[PATCH 0/2] Unwritten extent merge update, V2
The old extent merging code down underneath "ocfs2_mark_extent_written()"
can't merge extents between leaf blocks. This patch resolve this.
So that a large unwritten extent which has been split up with a bunch of
writes can be merged together once all unwritten regions have been written to.
Modification from V1 to V2:
1. Add more comments for some functions which is more complicated

Does R have graphlets?
I've been experimenting some with the graphlets which S-Plus 6.1 has. Is
there
something similar in R? I've looked through documentations, and at SJava,
but haven't found it.
(If you don't know what a graphlet is, here's what it appears to be:
a graphlet is a binary file that encodes information about
a graph. Java uses spgraph.jar to display the graph and allow certain

Palm Hotsync success...
Well, after having given up uppon serial communication from
hotsync.exe to the Palm Vx, I decided to try network communication
instead.
I am able to perform a complete hotsync even with Netscape Calendar
synchronization. I am not doing anything special to make it work but
it is not straight forward, neither.
I start hotsync.exe, configuring it for network access only. Then I
start pi-nredir

[PATCH] syslinux/core: Remove discrepancy between code comments and compiled code in malloc.h
From: Brett Walker <brett.walker at geometry.com.au>
Remove a discrepancy between code comments and the definition for arena_header,
ARENA_PADDING and free_arena_header.
When the size of int and pointer are both 32-bits; and compiled with
DEBUG_MALLOC undefined; the following are true: sizeof(arena_header) == 16
and sizeof(free_arena_header) == 56.
To correct this, the type of _pad needs

[PATCH v1 0/6] btrfs: scrub
This series adds an initial implementation for scrub. It works quite
straightforward. The usermode issues an ioctl for each device in the
fs. For each device, it enumerates the allocated device chunks. For
each chunk, the contained extents are enumerated and the data checksums
fetched. The extents are read sequentially and the checksums verified.
If an error occurs (checksum or EIO), a good copy

Nah, I think I was confused :-) Make the 1 _Q_LOCKED_VAL though, as
that's the proper constant to use.

ActiveRecord 1.13.2 -> 1.14.0 breaks Postgres connectivity
To Whom It May Concern:
I have an ActiveRecord-based application (non-Rails). Life was grand
until I upgraded ActiveRecord yesterday, after which point I was getting
TONNES of these errors from my app and in PostgreSQL''s logs:

According to Google searching, this happens when an external process

C-6, Gnome question
Hi all!
Using the default Gnome desktop on Centos-6, I keep having difficulty
getting the mouse pointer to lineup exactly on the edge/corner of a
window when I want to resize the window. It seems that you have to
have it on a line exactly one pixel in width, and I'm finding it
increasingly hard to do (who, me? getting old? nah!)
Wondering if there is a gnome setting somewhere among the

Proxying, pertinent values and features, SNI
Hello,
I'm looking into deploying dovecot as a proxy, currently using perdition.
Have been using dovecot on the actual servers for years, nearly a decade.
So far just 1.x, but for the proxy it will have to be 2.x (2.1.7 is the
current Debian version), as the trigger for this change is the need to
support multiple SSL certificates.
All that happens on the proxy seems to be handled by the

Thanks ! Have a question: does it need "requres shell" ?
I tried without and it worked for me under windows (had to change check to CHECK: .{{\\|/}}test.cpp:2:51 though).
And I see nothing special probably that might require shell I think. We use cd/rm/cp in LLD testcases
without requiring

Will a Quad-core i5 processor significantly speed up development on Linux or Mac?
I am looking at getting a new Thinkpad with an i5 processor.
I was curious to what extent this would speed up developing a Ruby on
Rails
app. I am guessing that this depends to what extent multi-threading is
utilized,
but I am not sure---hence the question :^)
If it is not that significant, my other choice would be to get a used
Thinkpad
or Mac Pro, duo-core.
So is there a significant
