Xorg fills up /var/log/Xorg.0.log with AUDIT messages (up to system crash)
Hi, on a CentOS 6.4-workstation we have the problem, that Xorg fills up /var/log/Xorg.0.log with AUDIT messages faster than one can read. Within four hours the logfile grew to 160 MB and usually within 1-2 days applications and sometimes the OS crash because /var becomes full. Here a small extract of /var/log/Xorg.0.log: [...] [ 24272.458] AUDIT: Wed Oct 2 15:41:44 2013: 2625: client 28

dovecot logs to audit.log not to maillog
Hello, I have a curious phenomenon. Dovecot logs normally to /var/log/maillog. If I restart my server, dovecot loggs to /var/log/audit/audit.log. If I restart dovecot, dovecot loggs to /var/log/maillog again. And I think, wenn logrotate is restarting, dovecot logs to audit.log. But I don't know why. Any Ideas? greetings Ralf

Samba Audit Logs
Hi, My apologies if this isn't the right place to ask this question. We have trying to setup auditing in Samba but can't seem to get it to work. The audit log file is empty and we see some entries about file/folders in the /var/log/samba/%m but not the actual audit bits. Can someone please assist or point in the correct direction? syslog = 0 log file = /var/log/samba/%m Log level = 0

Interpreting audit logs?
Whenever I review audit logs, it is difficult for me to determine if an account was logged in at an usual day/time because there is no timestamp next to any entry, at least as I interpret the format. How, then do I properly and successfully review the audit log entries based on a date/time stamp? Also, how can I filter out root and sudo account entries, displaying everyone else in audit?

Transient permission denied errors when sending audit logs
Hi, In kubevirt we are running into a strange permission problem on libvirt-5.0. We see transient "Permission Denied" errors when "virAuditSend" wants to send an audit log. Samba Audit Logs
I think the issue is permissions related. I changed the log location to /tmp/audit.log and now it is populating. What should be the permissions for /var/log/samba/audit.log? Samba4 DC, Auth on linux side
Hi all, i'm searching the web up and down for a while now. I had set up an Samba4 AD from debian packages successfully. Now the goal is, like S3 with LDAP, to use this AD for linux purposes. At first for auth, later to bind postfix and other services to read the directory. (When tests are successfull, i will migrate an existing S3/OpenLDAP to S4s Active Directory. Now it is difficult for

Problems after upgrade from Samba3/OpenLDAP to Samba4 - New Useraccounts aren't properly working
Hello! We've got some problems after an Upgrade from OpenLDAP and Samba3 to Samba4 AD (4.5.12 on Debian 9). After a successfull upgrade. we can't create no new properly working User-accounts with the RSAT-mmc (Windows 2k8, which is connected to the DC). The account can be created in RSAT and can even login on a Windows 7 Client - which is fine - but the account doe not got any access on
