[LLVMdev] help writing an IR targeting backend
I've got a newbie question and am looking for some pointers. I want to implement a backend that targets another compiler IR format. Looking through the backend documentation, the infrastructure is stated to be flexible enough to do this (and refers to a hypothetical GCC IR backend). However, all of the documentation I've run across addresses actual ISA targets. Is there any

New List of implementations.
Hey everyone. Just and FYI that I started a list of markdown implementations: https://github.com/markdown/markdown.github.com/wiki/Implementations Please review and make any corrections/additions. The page should be publicly editable as long as you have a github account. Note that this is a list of _libraries_, which differentiates it from wikipedia's list [1]. For example, mmd2pdf is a

This is long overdue CTDB release. There have been numerous code enhancements and bug fixes since the last release of CTDB. Highlights ======= * Support for readonly records (http://ctdb.samba.org/doc/readonlyrecords.txt) * Locking API to detect deadlocks between ctdb and samba * Fetch-lock optimization to rate-limit concurrent requests for same record * Support for policy routing * Modified IP

[LLVMdev] problem trying to write an LLVM register-allocation pass
I'm trying to write a MachineFunctionPass to do register allocation. I have code that worked with an old version of LLVM. It does not work with llvm-3.1. (or various other versions that I've tried). The first problem is that including this line: AU.addRequiredID(TwoAddressInstructionPassID); in method getAnalysisUsage causes a runtime error: Unable to schedule 'Eliminate PHI

[LLVMdev] problem trying to write an LLVM register-allocation pass
Thanks Lang! Here's another question: I'm trying to process this input: int main() { return 0; } but I'm getting an error Assertion `!Fn.getRegInfo().getNumVirtRegs() && "Regalloc must assign all vregs"' failed. At the start of runOnMachineFunction I call Fn.getRegInfo().getNumVirtRegs(); and find that there is 1 virtual register. However,
