failing ssl authentication
Hi,
I have a fairly basic dovecot 2.0.19 configuration on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS server with self signed certificates and "ssl = required" option set. It had been working for years flawlessly (including upgrade from 1.x to 2.0.19).
Please see full "dovecot -n" output at the end of this post.
Until recently, new mail user agents (MUA) are having problems. I cannot pass the account

can't use godaddy SSL cert
Hey list,
I was having a similar SSL/openLDAP problem to this last week. I had
a chance to look at this again today and it still appears to not be
working. I called godaddy and had the last cert cancelled and reissued
as I had mis-typed the name of the CN on the last one.
I am trying to setup a Godaddy turbo SSL certificate with an openLDAP
2.4 server under FreeBSD 8.1. The clients are mainly

A lot of dovecot/imap processes
Hello!
I have a dovecot installed and many users could login via IMAP over SSL
(40 users at same time aprox).
Users could have "Check mail every X time" enabled in their client
(Thunderbird or K-9 mail) - Is this required feature? I noted that if I
disable it I still getting news mails without having to check for new
mails manually - .
I noted that dovecot is creating a lot of

client certs with godaddy ssl cert
I've read the client ssl cert section in the wiki and it talks about using a
self signed cert, if I am using a commercial cert, in this case godaddy, how
do I implement a self signed cert for the client side and have dovecot make
use of this? I know the mechanics of setting up the self signed ca, the
question is more what configuration changes do I need to make in dovecot to
handle both

auth service: out of memory
Hi,
I have some out of memory errors in my logs (file errors.txt attached)
I'm using dovecot 2.0.19, I can see some memory leaks fix in hg after
the 2.0.19 release but they seem related to imap-login service,
I attached my config too, is something wrong there? Should I really
increase the limit based on my settings?
Can these commits fix the reported leak?

Apache SSL key pass phrase question
I just set up a secure server.
Followed the godaddy instructions for key generation/installation - and
the server wanted my pass phrase to start.
When I started developing I followed instructions for a self signed cert
and everything went dandy.
Anyway - after a little googling and an uneasy feeling that I messed up
and godaddy might charge me a fee to resubmit for a new cert, I found

How to "Windows Authenticate"
Rick et al,
The link you gave was a start, but is targeted for Samba3 and is assuming a
probably Windows [SBS]Server AD/DC separate from the DC hosting dovecot, and
includes setting up kerberos.
I'm using a Samba4 AD/DC with integrated kerberos (so I don't think there is any
setup I can do there). Nevertheless I've followed the instructions otherwise;
specifically adding to

How to "Windows Authenticate"
This can't be that hard. I think I've enabled LDAP in Dovecot just by including
dovecot-ldap.conf.ext in 10-auth.conf and using the default settings. I now have
the configuration shown below. Two questions:
1. How do I set Outlook to authenticate with LDAP? Currently the Outlook
accounts still have the ID and password set in "Logon Information". Checking

Dovecot replies with default SSL certificate instead of the vhost's
Hello,
I'm using dovecot v2.0.21.
According to http://wiki2.dovecot.org/SSL/DovecotConfiguration,dovecot 2.x supports different SSL certificate for different virtual hosts by using "local_name" directive, but I can't get it to work.
When testing the certificate using "openssl s_client -connect domain.com:pop3s" I get the default certificate instead of

After Upgrade to Dovecot 2.0.5 SSL problems
Hi,
I've upgraded my Dovecot from 1.2 to 2.0.5. Everything is working fine on my Gentoo, also login with imaps and pop3s.
But:
I have in my config autocreate folders for new users. After creating a new user (with PostfixAdmin) I see in my logfile with SSL enabled this:
?
imap-login: Warning: SSL alert: where=0x4004, ret=560: fatal unknown CA [127.0.0.1]
?
With SSL-disable,

How to "Windows Authenticate"
Hmm.? I would expect to see 'mark at hprs.com'.? Whatever your full domain
name is.
It also won't look up /etc/shadow - Samba is doing the AD->Unix UID
mapping.? Your AD users shouldn't be in there when all is said and done.?
Well, at when I did a Samba4 install as a DC it still behaved like a Samba3
member, and there were no AD users in the local unix passwd files.
What does

Installing an SSL Cert
HI All,
I am considering buying this:
http://www.godaddy.com/Compare/gdcompare_ssl.aspx?isc=sslqgo003a
Since I have a domain that will be collecting data and processing payments.
Where can I find instructions on how to install the certificate?
Do I have to run another domain or sub domain for the store? Or can I just run the whole domain on https?
Thanks,
-Jason

Export/Import wild card SSL
Hi all,
This topic is one that I am ignorant on and appreciate any guidance.
My scenario;
I have a wild card SSL installed on one of my CentOS boxes.
As I understand it, this server was used as a sort of master when originally generating and receiving the wild card SSL cert (got the cert from GoDaddy BTW).
So, now I must export some file(s) from that server so that I can import it/them to

How to "Windows Authenticate"
More experimentation ...
I tried removing userdb and passdb from the dovecot NTLM config. That didn't
work. I then tried adding a static userdb as follows:
userdb {
driver = static
# allow_all_users = yes
args = gid=100 home=/home/HPRS/%n
}
(Interestingly, when I uncommented "allow_all_users" I got an "unsupported
setting" [or something like that], even though that

Dovecot Listescape plugin problem
Dovecot Version: 2.0.19
I'm on Ubuntu 12.04.3 using Zentyal with Dovecot for a mail Server. What I
try to setup is the possibility to use slashes ("/") in folder names inside
the IMAP account. Regularly if I name a folder "foo/bar", the system creates
me a folder named "bar" inside a folder named "foo". Listescape should give
me the possibility but it

chained ssl cert not working
I am running a production server with 40 pop3 users using dovecot 0.99.14.
I am trying to get a chained certificate installed that I purchased
through godaddy.com. I need some clarification on how to do this. I found
some really vague instructions on the dovecot wiki
http://wiki.dovecot.org/ChainedSSLCertificates?highlight=%28chained%29
Unfortunately these instructions are very confusing for me. I

business ssl certs for centos www and/or email servers
Although I know the basics about getting and installing web and mail server
ssl certs, I haven't had to "purchase" and do it "myself" for some time. i
always had someone else dealing with it.
I am wondering what you folks on the list are using on your centos web and
mail servers
:-)
Are you making your own or are you purchasing them from godaddy, thawte,

Update 1.2 -> 2.0 ... INBOX away?
Hi,
yesterday I did an update from dovecot 1.2 to 2.0.19 (Ubuntu 10.04 ->
12.04).
After fixing the configuration dovecot startups as it should, but with
one error, I don't understand: the INBOX will not be delivered to the
Mailclient and will not be filled by "deliver".
Instead, dovecot create the two dirs "new" and "cur" directly in "Maildir".

httpd ssl problems
Not much of a noob, but I will try.
I just configured httpd and installed mod_ssl and got my certificate from GoDaddy and put them on the server with ssl.conf pointing at them. I am getting this error:
SSLCertificateFile: file '/etc/pki/tls/certs/enmu.edu.crt' does not exist or is empty
It's a cute error. I have checked several times for misspellings, looked at the enmu.edu.crt
