Bug#691738: xen-utils-4.0: xen-utils python libraries should be migrated to separate package
Package: xen-utils-4.0
Version: 4.0.1-5.4
Severity: important
This bug affects xen-utils-4.0 in debian stable and xen-utils-4.1 in debian testing.
xen-utils contains the python libraries for python development against xen/xenstore.
These libraries should be separated from the main xen-utils packages so that they can be installed on a xen domU without pulling in dom0 xen functionality (i.e. the

xen-utils links libssl
Hi folks
The blktap things in xen-utils links against libcrypto. The code is GPL.
What should we do about it? It uses it only for MD5 and even only uses
32bit of the result.

Bug#770460: xen-utils-X.Y should recommend grub-xen-host
Package: xen-utils-4.4
Version: 4.4.0-1
Tags: patch
grub-xen-host implements the dom0 side of the x86 pv bootloader
protocol[0] and is now in unstable. This enables the use of pvgrub2 in
preference to the less secure pygrub.
The following patch makes the (trivial) change. Once I have a bug number
I will add the Closes: and push to a feature/bugNNNN branch.

Bug#585372: xen-utils-4.0: Python string exceptions no more allowed in Python 2.6
Package: xen-utils-4.0
Version: 4.0.0-1~experimental.2
Severity: minor
User: debian-python at lists.debian.org
Usertags: python2.6
Hello,
One of the changes brought by Python 2.6 is the removal of string
exceptions, so they won't work in Python 2.6 (just a side note: they
were also buggy before, since they were not guaranteed to work
reliable even in <2.6); as an example:
$ python2.5 -c

Bug#507186: xen-utils-3.2-1 doesn't package the xen python library correctly
Package: xen-utils-3.2-1
Version: 3.2.1-2
Severity: important
Once installed, the python library of Xen are not in the python search path.
Concequently, it's impossible to import anything from the xen-utils in another
application. The only way to fix it is to do:
cd /usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages
ln -s /usr/lib/xen-3.2-1/lib/python/xen xen
xen-utils-3.2-1 should in fact use the folder

Bug#609689: xen-utils-4.0: Missing xentrace_format python script in /usr/lib/xen-4.0/bin/

Severity: normal
When I invoke
me at dev:~# xentrace_format
I get
exec: 22: /usr/lib/xen-4.0/bin/xentrace_format: not found
as result.
The missing python script is referenced by the /usr/sbin/xentrace_format
script
from the xen-utils-common package.
Using the python script from another (xen 4.0.0) distribution works fine.
So I assume the file is
