How to update ports tree indexes when using svn
Hi list,
after the security announcement (http://www.freebsd.org/news/2012-compromise.html) I use svn to update my local ports tree. I've found out that the port index is not updated. What is the preferred/recommended way to update port indexes when using svn?
Thanks,
Serguey.

CentOS on HP DL360e with B120i
I am trying to install CentOS5 on a new HP DL360e G8 with B120i disk
controller. It appears that a proprietary HP driver is needed for it.
I found a useful description at http://www.linuxhelp.in/2013/08/Installing-centos-on-HP-Proliant-DL360e-Gen8-with-B120i-controller.html
I have a pair of hard drives to use as a RAID1 mirror.
My question to people who may have been this way already is: is it

openjdk6 browser plugin
Hi list,
I've installed openjdk6 from ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/ports/amd64/packages-8-stable/java.
Does this package contain a browser java plugin? I can't find it. Any tips are appreciated.

Serguey.

FreeBSD 9.1 won't boot with a graid error
Hi everybody.
I've just upgraded a box from FreeBSD 9 to 9.1 via freebsd-update.
At the first reboot, the machine stopped with messages about GRAID :
GEOM_RAID: Promise: Subdisk kjihgfedcba`_^]\[ZYXWVUTSRQPONM:0-ada0 state
changed from NONE to ACTIVE
The trick is that I've never setup any kind of RAID on that old box...
Is there a way to completely disable GEOM_RAID loading on boot ?

ahcich reset -> cannot mount zfs root in 9.1-PRE
Hi all,
Trying to upgrade a system from 9.0-RELEASE to 9.1-PRE from yesterday on
my machine (GEOM+ZFS mirror setup on ada[01]p3), the new kernel becomes
unable to mount root... The only way to recover is to boot from 9.0 kernel.
The disks were already named ada[01] in 9.0, so I suspect nothing there...
I tried
- disabling AHCI in bios (no change seen)
- change cables, check PSU, test disks

GEOM_RAID3: Device datos is broken, too few valid components
Hello list,
Last night one disk of my desktop machine dead causing a hard lock of the
computer. It was a component of a mirror volume so it wasn't as serious as
it initially looked.
Unfortunately, the metadata structure of my data partition (a geom raid3
array with tree components ) seems to be corrupted by this hard lock,

Set nodatacow per file?
Hello,
is it possible to set nodatacow on a per-file basis? I couldn''t find
anything.
If not, wouldn''t that be a great feature to get around the performance
issues with VM and database storage? Of course cloning should still
cause COW.
Thanks,
Ralf-Peter
