Centos 5 OpenOffice 2.0.4-5.4.17.2
Content-type: Multipart/Alternative; boundary="Alt-Boundary-19583.13106888" --Alt-Boundary-19583.13106888 I noticed that there are no openoffice.org-xxx-2.0.4-5.4.17.2 rpms in Centos 5 update. So I tried to build openoffice 2.0.4-5.4.17.2 (sans language packs) on a x86_64 from RH 5 source rpm. The build bombed after an hour elapsed and it used up about 10 GB of space with an error

Samba Upgrade on Centos 3
After today's samba update, Centos 3 boxes can not use samba to communicate with each other, although Windows and the Centos 3 boxes see each other correctly as do RHEL5 and the Centos3 boxes. The du command works well, but ls, cp, cat ,etc produces the error: PANIC: push_ascii - dest_len == -1 in the server log and smb_trans2_request: result=-5, setting invalid in the client. A similar

How to document man/*.Rd pages with images?
Hi, I?m trying to figure out how to put images into my package?s help documentation. I?ve gotten to the point where I can put the images in the /inst/doc/ directory. I have also gotten to the point where I have package checks without any warnings. I couldn?t find the terms ?picture,? ?image,? or ?graphic? in a text search within the Writing R Extensions: 2 Writing R documentation files

Via EPIA m10000 Nemehiah
Does anyone else have one of these on 24/7 running RHEL 5.4 or Centos 5.4 ?? That box mysteriously stops ( no crash data, it just stops) hours or days after boot, with or without X. Cntl-Alt-Delete reboots it without power cycling. The usual diagnostics (memtest and fsck) return no errors. Works great until it freezes. No evidence of kernel oops anywhere. If others report the same issues we

Dear all, I am working with R Version 0.62.2 (July 10, 1998) on a SuSE Linux 5.2. I have troubles in understanding the function image (). Can someone enlighten me? I'd like to draw a square image-plot (with every little part of the image a square as well) and add some (straight) lines to it. Also, I create an empty z matrix which I need to fill step by step. Thus I tried to find out how

Steps to move away parts away from samba?
Morning, I like samba, but I'm tired of what I feel is fighting battles. I want to move the PDC portion of samba to an Active Directory server (I've been told AD is a part of Server 2008?). Would someone please list the steps for doing this? My rough idea so far is: - take an LDIF from OpenLDAP - install the server 2008 box - load the LDIF into AD - join the AD box to the samba domain -

Multivariable linear regression
Hi, I need to do some multivariable linear regression from RoR. I have found one possible solution: 1. Install R on my host (Dreamhost) 2. Use the "R for Ruby" gem Using a complex statistical package such as R seems a bit complicated however, and I am wondering if you would have a simpler solution ? The data is gathered online from the user, stored in the mySQL database, and I need

pgadmin3
Anyone been able to get pgadmin3 installed on CentOS-4 ? The WxGTK2 stuff makes it impossible for me to get installed from RPM/SRPM from their site and likewise, couldn't rebuild from Fedora SRPMS either. I figure between Jim and Owen and ???, somebody might have succeeded where I would be doomed. I can get around with phppgadmin but pgadmin3 is pretty cool. Thanks Craig

parsing a structured object
Hi All, Thanks in advance for your help. I take this to be a very basic question, but I'm very new to R. I'm trying to figure out how to parse an object. I have the following: > fileLocation location 1 foo.csv > fileLocation$location [1] foo.csv Levels: foo.csv What I want to get back is

Ordinal Independent Variables
When I run "lrm" from the Design package, I get a warning about contrasts when I include an ordinal variable: Warning message: Variable ordfac is an ordered factor. You should set options(contrasts=c("contr.treatment","contr.treatment")) or Design will not work properly. in: Design(eval(m, sys.parent())) I don't get this message if I use glm with

isohybrid and partition type 0x17
Hi, OLPC's Openfirmware (OFW) implementation chokes when attempting to boot an iso created by isohybrid. The problem is that OFW's ISO-9660 support expects a partition type of 0x96 (CHRP ISO-9660, according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Partition_type). I see from

Nuby experiences
Hello all, I am new to dovecot and have had a good experience so far. I'm using fetchmail - exim - dovecot - my email clients (mac os mail and thunderbird so far). I'm also using Ubuntu Server i.e. debian. I didn't like the inflexibility of mbox so I did a tweak to exim to deliver mail to a Maildir folder in my home directory on the server. I restarted Dovecot and it found it!

NT4 "at" jobs & samba
Hello: All of my "at" jobs that write to a samba share (2.2.5) balk with "access denied" errors. I have "force nt acl user = yes" on the share, but this doesnt help. "access denied" only occurs when the batch jobs run under "at". I can run the batch files successfully at the nt cmd line. I can only guess that nt4 "at" jobs are

Want non-ASCII characters in data package
Hi, I have a data frame that includes several names that (if typeset correctly) require accented characters not available in the ASCII character set. I'd like to include this data frame as example data in an R package. I'd also like the R CMD check warning about the use of non-ASCII characters to go away, in part so I could submit the package somewhere that wouldn't balk at the

[LLVMdev] Final Windows MinGW buildbot slave document...
Hi, Here's the final, confirmed working version of my Windows guide for how to set up a MinGW buildbot slave. Please consider to include it in the documentation on the LLVM website. Basically, it saves the newcoming Windows user about two or three days of experimentation to get it all working. I think those days are important as many people balk at spending days on figuring out how to get

SVD for reducing dimensions
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi all, this is probably simple and I'm just doing something stupid, sorry about that :-) I'm trying to convert words (strings of letters) into a fairly small dimensional space (say 10, but anything between about 5 and 50 would be ok), which I will call a feature vector. The the distance between two words represents the similarity of the

Probably OT: Has anyone else seen SeaMonkey 'pop' without warning?
I sent a bug report to Mozilla about this, but I was hoping someone here might have an insight on this. I use SeaMonkey as my default browser (32-bit even though I'm running x86_64 CentOS 5.1), version 1.1.7. Shortyl after installing 1.1.7 on my 5.0 (and even since 5.1), I noticed that every so often, seemingly at random, although it appears most frequently when I click on something that
