R does not subset
Hi everyone, I know there have been several requests regarding subsetting before, but none of them really helps with my problem: I'm trying to subset only infected individuals from the REC2 data.frame: > str(REC2) 'data.frame': 362 obs. of 7 variables: $ RINGNO : Factor w/ 370 levels "BL17546","BL17577",..: 78 81 67 41 58 66 17 $ year : Factor w/ 8

dredge solely offset models in MuMIn
hello everyone, I'm modelling in lmer an average chick weight defined as "Total.brood.mass ~ offset(chick.number), with three fixed and two random effect. Next, I want to use function dredge from MuMIn package for model averaging. Not sure why, but in consequence the offset variable is treated as a predictor, so I get a table that mixes models with and without that offset term (the first

Understanding migrateuser.sh
I'm sure it comes from my being a gormless idiot, but whatever is the -UKWS argument immediately after the mb2md.pl invocation? > $MB2MD -UKWS -s "$INBOX" -d "$WORKING" As always, reading the idiom of someone else's scripting is an education. And some of it wouldn't work with native AIX sh/ksh, so changed the functions: > folders_hash() { > local

Detailed description of problem in Poland
Hi guys, Here is a bit more detailed information of my problem: If I connect Asterisk PBX to the Polish telco via E1, I don't get any red alarms or anything. The line seems to be fine and the inbound calls are also accepted by the Asterisk. However, whenever I try to make an outbound call, the call is either stuck (Asterisk just displays Called g1/482.... and then nothing), or I get the

Strange results : bootrstrp CIs
Dear Duncan, Dear Ivan, I really thank you a lot for your response. So, if I correctly understand your answers the problem is coming from this line: coef(lm(Score~ Time + factor(Country)),data=data[idx,]) This line should be: coef(lm(Score~ Time + factor(Country),data=data[idx,])) If yes, now I get an error message (code here below)! So, it still does not work. Error in t.star[r, ] <-

Free g.729.1 implementation
1st. - I'm from Poland, we don't have (yet, and hopefully forever) software patents. Is there any free g.729.1 implementation for asterisk? I want to use it for my private use (dialing into inet->PSTN gateway), and I don't want (now) to buy codec, as I don't know if I will be using this service in future (now I just want to test it). Any solutions? Maybe even

question for some tests
Hi! I come from Poland, and my English is not as good as it should be, so I have to apologize for my mistakes. I would like to ask you for a package, where I can find a test, which is named The Test Of Series (in Poland). In econometric models we use this test to check if the residuals are completely random ( I mean with destiny). And one more thing - I would like to know where I can find a test

Strange results : bootrstrp CIs
It took me a little while to figure this out, but: the problem is that if your resampling leaves out any countries (which is very likely), your model applied to the bootstrapped data will have fewer coefficients than your original model. I tried this: cc <- unique(e$Country) func <- function(data, idx) { coef(lm(Score~ Time + factor(Country, levels =cc),data=data[idx,])) } but lm()
