running a regression
Hi all, When I run a regression, I got the following response.  your help is appreciated.  Error in constants (lhs, cnames_symb) :   The hypothesis "Cost_PKL-QK.X_(Intercept)=0" is not well formed: contains bad coefficient/variable names.  In addition: Warning message: In constants(lhs, cnames_symb) : NAs introduced by coercion Dereje [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Integration in R
Dear R-users, I am facing problem with integrating in R a likelihood function which is a function of four parameters. It's giving me the result at the end but taking more than half an hour to run. I'm wondering is there any other efficient way deal with. The following is my code. I am ready to provide any other description of my function if you need to move forward.

How to get predicted values of y for different x values?
Here is my model with interaction terms and control variables (I changed variables names for easy read): reg1 <- lm(y ~ x1*x2*x3 +control1 + control2 + control3) x1 ranges from 0 to 6; x2 from 0 to 5; and x3 from 0 to 4. All three are discrete ordinal variables; but I will treat them as continuous variables. (a) How can I see the predicted values of y for each of these scenarios (210

help with kriging interpolation
All, I am new to using R and know some basics. I wish to use kriging in R to do the following: given data Y =f(X1,X2,X3,.....,Xn) --1000+ irregular measured data set. I would like to be able to get a single value y given sinle input set (x1,x2,x3,...xn) A google search on this takes me lierally to the same example on involving analysis with soil sampling and I cannot figure out how to

function for grouping
Dear All, I'm wondering if there is a R function could give me all the combinations of the grouping/cluster result, given the number of the groups. e.g. 3 objects: x1 x2 x3, number of groups is 2 so the result will be group1:x1,x2; group2: x3 group1: x1;group2: x2,x3 group1: x1,x3;group2: x2 many thanks yan

Arranging column data to create plots
Dear All, I need some help arranging data that was imported. function to undo the DIFF command in ARIMA command
Hi users. I'm new user in R. I'm workiing with Time series and I would like to know how can I do to undo the command DIFF(X), for exemple: If I have the model: m=arima(X, order=c(0,1,1), seasonal=list(order=c(0,0,1))) (note that have d=1 one difference), to find, in the same scale, the original numbers (like one "unDiff"), after the forecast, I need to develop some function or in

is that possible to graph 4 dimention plot
Suppose there are 4 variables d is a function of a , b and c I want to know how a, b and c change will make d change It will be straightforward to see it if we can graph the d surface if d is only a function of a and b, I can use 'persp' to see the surface of d. I can easily see at what values of a and b, d will get the maxium or minium or multiple modes, etc But for 4 dimention graph,

Confidence intervals for estimates of all independent variables in WLS regression
I would like to obtain Confidence Intervals for the estimates (unstandardized beta weights) of each predictor in a WLS regression: m1 = lm(x~ x1+x2+x3, weights=W, data=D) SPSS offers that output by default, and I am not able to find a way to do this in R. I read through predict.lm, but I do not find a way to get the CIs for multiple independent variables. Thank you Torvon [[alternative HTML

for loop, error in model frame.default ... variable lengths differ
I'm failing to get a for loop working. I'm sure it's something simple, and I have found some posts relating to it, but I'm just not understanding why this isn't working. I have a data frame and would like to loop through specific column names, using aggregate() within a for loop. There are NA's scattered throughout the data frame and I'm thinking it has something to

algorithm that iteratively drops columns of a data-frame
Dear R-Users, I have a problem with an algorithm that iteratively goes over a data.frame and exclude n-columns each step based on a statistical criterion. So that the 'column-space' gets smaller and smaller with each iteration (like when you do stepwise regression). The problem is that in every round I use a new subset of my data.frame. However, as soon as I "generate" this

How to write a loop in R to select multiple regression model and validate it ?
I would like to run a loop in R. I have never done this before, so I would be very grateful for your help ! 1. I have a sample set: 25 objects. I would like to draw 1 object from it and use it as a test set for my future external validation. The remaining 24 objects I would like to use as a training set (to select a model). I would like to repeat this process until all 25 objects are used as a

It's been a long time for me to figure out how to make it work, but it's still of no avail. The problem seems to be my code with the optim() function. Can anyone help me take a look at the
