A panel of contour plots through a iteration process
Dear all, as you can see from the code I want to create *a panel of 11 contour plots through a iteration process*. I found a thread that address the issue of plotting many contour.plots in the same device, but it does not address my problem! I emphasize that the 11 contour plots must be appeared in the same device through an iteration process and NOT individually! par(mfrow=c(4,3)) # I want them

List of multidimensional arrays
Dear all, I am trying to create a list, where each list element is a vector of different length arrays that contain 2by2 matrices. To be more specific there are 11 treatments that are compared with placebo (we have 11 comparisons) and each comparison is studied by a different number of trials and each trial has a different number of missing participants in both arms. The length of the list is

Problem with mutli-dimensional array
I want to make a multi-dimensional array. To be specific I want to make the following array results<-array(0,dim=c(2,2,64,7)) This is the code I have created but it gives no result due to the error "subscript out of bound". x<-rep(7,7) # Missingness in intervention y<-rep(7,7) # Missingness in control

Creating x*y different contigency tables
Dear all, I am trying to construct 25x31 different matrices of 2x2 dimension. Here is the problem: we have the following matrix matrix(c(54+s0, 43+s1, 56-s0, 67-s1), nrow=2, ncol=2, byrow=T) the values for s0 and s1 are c(0:24) and c(0:31), respectively. I wrote the following code without the desired results

Using filled.contour and contour functions together
Dear R help contributors, I'd like to plot ground temperature with time on X-axis and depth on Y-axis on this datasets ( http://r.789695.n4.nabble.com/file/n3301033/NEdaily.csv NEdaily.csv ), and to do so I use the following commands: library(RSEIS) xNE <- seq(1, as.numeric(as.Date(max(NEdaily[[1]])) - as.Date(min(NEdaily[[1]]))), 1) yNE <- rev(c(-0.3, -0.5, -0.7, -0.9, -1.1,

Export data frame of high dimension to txt
I managed with success to export a data frame of 367 columns and 37 rows to a txt file, but unfortunately I couldn't manage the same with the transposed data frame. Specifically, it seems like the notebook cannot "read" correctly 367 columns, so it reads the first 145 columns and it folds down the rest of them and consequently it folds down the respective data.

Re-order columns
Dear R'sians, Would really appreciate if you could suggest a more efficient way to order the columns of a dataset. The column names of the dataset contain indices separated by a period. Following are examples of my code and the dataset. oC <- function(tg=x2) { lth <- length(grep("T",names(tg))) thix <-

How to extract x rows to get x pvalues using t.test

survreg 3-way interaction
> I was wondering why survreg (in survival package) can not handle > three-way interactions. I have an AFT ..... You have given us no data to diagnose your problem. What do you mean by "cannot handle" -- does the package print a message "no 3 way interactions", gives wrong answers, your laptop catches on fire when you run it, ....? Also, make sure you read

adding contour lines to a filled.contour
Hi all, Does anybody know how to add contour lines to a filled contour plot? I want to draw a single contour around values that are above a certain level (e.g., significant). The problem I'm having is that since the filled.contour command actually draws two plots (data and the key), adding contour lines paints them over both plots. Any suggestions? Thanks, Andy #~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

contour and filled contour plots
Hello, I'd like to remove color bar from "filled.contour" plot. Is it possible and how? I also want to overlay "contour" plot on filled.contour but due to scaling of the "filled.contour" to account for the color bar, aspect ratio for "contour" is different from "filled.contour". Can this problem be solved? Thanks, Mark

Plotting contour & filled.contour in one graph
Dear All, I have a question on overlaying a filled.contour (e.g. on soil properties data) and contour (by elevation) in one graph. Both have the same z matrix dimension. I'm able to overlay both graph, but the plots dimension did not overlap well on the same plots. How can I have both filled.contour and contour on the same graph? The commands that I have written are as follows:

Plot contour over filled contour
Dear R-users, I haven't found a way in the searchable archive to overplot a contour (lines) over a surface. I have a (n,m) matrix that represents sea surface temperature that I have plotted using image.plot(), filled.contour() or image(). I would like to overplot this image with some contour lines of mixed layer depth values(same size matrix). How can I do this? Any help is appreciated,

about contour - get contour coordinates - exclude area display
Dear all, I wonder about what could actually be possible with the function "contour": 1/ - the definition of contour lines is most often meaningless when the contours are drawn in areas where no real data points exist. It can however happen that irregular distributions lead to more or less irregular clouds of data points. Interpolations (eg: loess regression, GLM, etc...) are however

contour(): Thickness contour labels
Hi, I want to display some contour labels. It works well, but the thickness of the label is to low. I tried the "labcex" command contour(x,y,z, labcex=2) But only the size is rising and not the thickness of labels. Only if i set the value to "labcex=10" the thickness is good, but the size is to big, so i can't see anything ;) Is there any command to rise the thickness

contourplot:how to get it to label all contours like 'contour'
Hi, one of the nice things about contour is that it labels all contour lines. contourplot only labels each particular elevation a single time. i.e., if there are two contour lines corresponding to z = 45, it will only label one of them. is there a way to get contourplot to automatically label all the contour lines, even those that are repeated? i ask because i want to plot contour plots *w/

How to color a region in a contour plot with the contour being the boundary?
Dear expeRts, I would like to color a certain region in a levelplot. The region for z <= 0.02 should have a dark gray color. Below is a minimal example. It almost does what I want, but The region between z=0.02 and z=1 is also colored in dark gray (instead of just the region for z <= 0.02). How can I solve this? Cheers, Marius ## z values for given x and y f <- function(x)

substitute, eval, quote and functions
Hi, i am working with large data frames with many dependend variables. I want to write some functions that will allow me to quickly select variables from the frame and plot them in various colors depending on factor columns, possibly selecting rows according to factor conditions. In order to do this in a nice function, i need to understand how to work with a column name in the body of a

plot 4th variable contour lines on filled.contour
Hello, I have a dataset with 4 variables, each consisting of a vector, all with the same length. I start by interpolating the first three variables using the function "interp", and plot the interpolation successfully using "filled.contour". I then interpolate the first two variables and a fourth using "interp" again, but when I try to overlay the contour lines
