importing a list
Hi, all.
I'm trying to automate some regression operations in R leaving the
possibility to modify the predictors in the regression.
For example, I have saved in a list the results and then exported as a txt
file, in which we can modify the predictors, putting for example
lm(y~x^2) instead of having lm(y~x) as in the original model.
Now, I need to import in R the txt file as a list to

While I'm not an R expert, I have used R on Windows XP. Now I've moved

I start by following the instructions for installing arm and BRugs at

adding a dummy variable...
Hi all,
I have a dataset of individuals where the variable ID corresponds to the
identification of the household where the individual lives. rel.head stands
for the relationship with the household head. so rel.head=1 is the household
head, rel.head=2 is the spouse, rel.head=3 is the children.
Here is an example to see how it looks like:
df<-data.frame(ID=c("17100",

Installing sjPlot in R 3.4.4 on Ubuntu 16.04LTS
Dear all,
I have had some rather serious difficulties getting graphics and analysis
packages to load in R on my new Ubuntu Install.
The trouble seems to begin when attempting to install TMB.
I have done a full purge of r-base r-base-dev and r-base-core and
reinstalled the newest version of RStudio (not that this should matter).
I'm not sure what to try next.
many thanks!

details about lm()
Dear all,
I'd like to get a linear regression of some data, and impose that the line
goes through a given point P. I've tried to use the lm() method in the
package "stats", but I wasn't able to specify the coordinates of the point
P. Maybe I should use another method?
I also have another question: How does lm() choose the point through which
the output straight line goes in

R-CPCA
Dear Ben Bolker,
searching for a R code able to do the CPCA I found a message by you on
https://stat.ethz.ch/.
In that message you said you have something I am looking for. Would you
share with me? I ma stuck with a commercial software (GOLPE) that is not
developed anymore, therefore I'd like to try to use R for the
calculations I need.
Looking forware for a reply from you

R 1.9.0 and cursors
Hi all,
I have successfully compiled and installed (OS: Linux Mandrake 9.2) the last
devel version of R (ver. 1.9.0). All seems to go well, but now I cannot use
the cursors for exploring back the command history (when I press the cursor
key the following characters are shown: ^[[A , or ^[[B etc.).
Hints and suggestions are welcomed.
Thanks.

Creating a simple tag plugin
I want to create a tag processor that is activated by something like:
{flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/censi/232006603/}
(it then downloads from flickr the description of the photo -- look
for example at http://www.dis.uniroma1.it/~acensi/category/sss06.html)
This is my flickr.rb:
load_plugin ''webgen/plugins/tags/tag_processor''
module Tags

Archive key for the Dovecot Automatic Debian Package Archive (Xi) updated
Hi,
I've updated the archive key for the Xi archive. So, when updating, you
will initially get a key error.
To fix this, either upgrade the debian-dovecot-auto-keyring package
(preferred), or update your key manually from the archive.key located in
the repository root.
Regards,
Stephan.

[LLVMdev] Possible VirtRegMap Bug
I've been playing around with spillers and found that the SimpleSpiller fails
badly on a particular code.
The problem arises because SimpleSpiller does the test
VRM.isAssignedReg(virtReg) which is implemented as:
00183 bool isAssignedReg(unsigned virtReg) const {
00184 if (getStackSlot(virtReg) == NO_STACK_SLOT &&
00185 getReMatId(virtReg) == NO_STACK_SLOT)

Archive search + xen
Hi:
I'm new to Centos mailing list. Please excuse the simple questions.
The only archive I can find for this list appears to be unsearchable. Is
there another archive somewhere, where one can search?
Am I in the right list to discuss problems with Centos5 xen distro? I'm
having a problem with a foreign-language keyboard in the guest installation
(which is also Centos5).

list archive anomaly
At the list archive page (http://mailman.ds9a.nl/pipermail/lartc/) there
is an amazing message from the future: the year 2032 (q1).
Not that I know anything about mailman, but someone might want to
"maintain" that.
