R combining vectors into a data frame but without a continuous common variable
Hello, I have two different files which I'd like to combine to make one data frame but I've no idea how to do it! The first file has two columns; one is the date, the following is a binary code for debris flow events. Then my other file has also two columns; the date and then precipitation data. The thing is, is that the two date columns don't all contain the same dates. The binary

How to calculate mean of every nth time series data with zoo or xts ?
Hello, I have 1-minute time series stock data and I'd like to calculate mean of every n-th candle data of m-days. result = c(mean of 1th data, mean of 2nd data, ...) mean of 1th data = (1th data of 2012-1-1 + 1th data of 2012-1-2 + 1th data of 2012-1-3) / 3 mean of 2nd data = (2nd data of 2012-1-1 + 2nd data of 2012-1-2 + 2nd data of 2012-1-3) / 3 ... Could you let me know the fastest

Hi, Let say I have a date variable like this: structure(1243792800, class = c("POSIXct", "POSIXt"), tzone = "GMT") [1] "2009-05-31 18:00:00 GMT" How can I make it 10 days prior, so: [1] "2009-05-21 18:00:00 GMT" I'm randomly selecting dates from a list and want a second value a set # of days either before or after. Thanks ahead of time.

conditional Dataframe filling
Hi everyone: This may be trivial but I just have not been able to figure it out. Imagine the following dataframe: a b c d TRUE TRUE TRUE TRUE FALSE FALSE FALSE TRUE FALSE TRUE FALSE FALSE I would like to create a new dataframe, in which TRUE gets 0 but if false then add 1 to the cell to the left. So the results for the example above should be something like: a b c

Wrong computation of time differenze in POSIXct - additional digits
Hello, I wanted to compute the time differenze between to times: first =as.POSIXct( "2012-06-15 16:32:39.0025 CEST") second = as.POSIXct("2012-06-15 16:32:39.0086 CEST") second - first The result is Time difference of 0.006099939 secs instead of just 0.0061 secs So R adds aditional numbers after the result. I know I could round it in this case. But I am working with a

POSIXct-coerced NA's not considered NA by is.na()
Hello folks, I found a strangeness while experimenting with POSIXct vectors and lists. It seems that coerced NA's aren't "real" NAs, at least as considered by is.na()? > date_vec = c(as.POSIXct(now()), as.POSIXct(now()+1),NA,"b") > date_vec [1] "2012-08-22 15:00:46 COT" "2012-08-22 15:00:47 COT" NA [4] NA Warning message: In

Note that col2 was not an existing column and was newly assigned for this
