My stepAIC function works for one set of data but not another....one set of data shows the steps of eliminating variables, versus another set of data doesn't throw away any variables. can stepAIC be customized to exclude coefficients with p-value less than certain values?
For example, if coefficient's p-value is less than 0.1 I want the stepwise to automatically drop that variable. Can the stepAIC be customized to do that? 2.0.1 countdown
We plan to a patch release on Nov.15 to fix up various problems that cropped up after the release of R 2.0.0. Daily beta snapshots will be made available until the day of release. Please check if your favourite bugs have been fixed (but notice that since we try hard to keep the patch versions stable, some items may have to wait for the 2.1 release.) Also, please help us with platform testing.

[PATCH] Support symlinks in scp of openssh 2

scp "Bad address" errors with strange filesystem block sizes
When copying from a remote host to a local filesystem with a strange block size, allocbuf() in scp.c seems to calculate an incorrect buffer size, causing the copy loop in sink() to write past the end of the buffer. For example, with smbfs, the optimal block size is negotiated when the client connects to the server, and is rarely a power of two. In my case it is 64560. This loop in sink() keeps

6.3 installer keeps cycling in a 10 second countdown to boot
Hi. I've been running CentOS 5 for ages. (Thanks!) I went to install 6.3 - I downloaded the 64-bit DVD 1 image, and put it on a USB drive. Booted into a screen that said boot will start in 10.. 9... 8.. 7.. 6.. 5.. 4.. 3.. 2.. 1.. 10.. and so on, infinite loop, the boot never starts. Two questions
1) A lot (but not all) of my smbd / nmbd logs are going to /var/log/messages instead of /var/log/samba/ I tried a couple of things in syslog.conf, but just don't know the magic word for samba logs. 2) I'm getting lots of "couldn't find service" errors. File Offsets for SCP (patch)
I don't know if anyone would be interested in this but I'm including a patch to allow for offsets when transferring files with SCP. It's pretty simple and assumes the user knows what they are doing (for example, if transferring with a wild card the offset would apply to all files). -A is the number of bytes offset from the beginning of the files. -Z is the number of bytes inset
