figs parameter for split.screen()
Dear all,
I would be pleased if anyone could help me.
The Rhelp description for the figs parameter is "a two-element vector
describing
the number of rows and colunns in a screen matrix".
So, why does my code (below) produce a 2x1 screen matrix instead of
a 1x2 one?
Thanks in advance,
rodrigo.

Accounting for overdispersion in a mixed-effect model with a proportion response variable and categorical explanatory variables.
Dear R-help-list,
I have a problem in which the explanatory variables are categorical,
the response variable is a proportion, and experiment contains
technical replicates (pseudoreplicates) as well as biological
replicated. I am new to both generalized linear models and mixed-
effects models and would greatly appreciate the advice of experienced
analysts in this matter.

outlier identify in qqplot
Dear Community,
I want to identify outliers in my data. I don't know how to use identify
command in the plots obtained.
I've gone through help files and use mahalanobis example for my purpose:

interpreting anova summary tables - newbie
Hello,
Apologies if this is the wrong list, I am a first-time poster here. I
have an experiment in which an output is measured in response to 42
different categories.
I am only interested which of the categories is significantly different
from a reference category.
Here is the summary of the results:

Call:

Read the data from a text file and reshape the data
I have a data set for different time intervals. The data has three comment
lines before data for each time interval. For each time interval there are
500 data points. I want to change the dataset such that I have the following

lme and varFunc()
Dear R users,
I am currently analyzing a dataset using lme(). The model I use has the
following structure:
model<-lme(response~Covariate+TreatmentA+TreatmentB,random=~1|Block/Plot,method="ML")
When I plot the residuals against the fitted values, I see a clear
positive trend (meaning that the variance increases with the mean).
I tried to solve this issue using weights=varPower(),

Line Graph - Greater than 2 variables on plot
Hello all,
I was wondering if anyone knew how to construct a multiple line graph on R,
where there are 2 (or more) sets of data points plotted against some x axis of
data, and you can draw a line on the graph connecting each set of data points.
For example:
A B C D
0.6566 2.1185 1.2320 5
0.647 2.0865 1.2325 10
0.6532

Trying to extract probabilities in CARET (caret) package with a glmStepAIC model
Dear developers,
I have jutst started working with caret and all the nice features it offers. But I just encountered a problem:
I am working with a dataset that include 4 predictor variables in Descr and a two-category outcome in Categ (codified as a factor).
Everything was working fine I got the results, confussion matrix etc.
BUT for obtaining the AUC and predicted probabilities I had to add

how to train ksvm with spectral kernel (kernlab) in caret?
Hello all,
I would like to use the train function from the caret package to
train a svm with a spectral kernel from the kernlab package. Sadly
a svm with spectral kernel is not among the many methods in caret...
using caret to train svmRadial:

library(kernlab)

wxStyledTextCtrl: how to set caret at begining of a selection?
Hi there,
I was trying to select text backwards in a StyledTextCtrl, i.e, want the
caret to be in the front, not at the end of selection, however
unsucessful.
My code like this:
set_selection_end(11)
set_selection_start(5)
Any suggestions? thanks in advance.
