all duplicated wanted
Hi,
Has anyone been able to figure out how to print all duplicated observations?
I have a dataset, with patients ID, and other lab records.
Some patients have multiple lab records, but 'duplicated' ID will only show me the duplicates, not the original observation.
How can I print both the original one and the duplicates?
Thanks

how to import from SPSS without shortening variable names
Hello,
as I import '.sav' files from SPSS, the variable names are shortened to
8 uppercase characters:
"sex_of_therapist" will become "SEX_OF_TH"
Is there a way around this? How can I retrieve the full names?

question about SNA in R, thanks!
Dear colleagues,
I'm trying to have a look at the Assortative and Disassortative (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assortative_mixing) of the network I have.
But it seems that the igraph hasn't mentioned that yet.
I have to get the in/out degree of the vertices of each edge and calculate
the Pearson's Correlation coefficient which seems to be quite a huge task
for me. :(
So I wonder if

about centralization
Hi all,
Is there anyone who ever used igraph to calculate the index of
"centralization" ?
I tried my best but can't find it in igraph.
The brief introduction to "centralization" can be found here , and I think
it's an important index for measuring the centrality on the aggregated
level.(http://faculty.ucr.edu/~hanneman/nettext/C10_Centrality.html)
Thank you for any

Welcome to the "R-help" mailing list (Digest mode)
Hi friends,
Is there anyone who happened to import data set in the "DL" format into R
for further analysis?
In the package of "network", there's only a method named "read.paj()".
So now, I have to get the dl file from the original data set, and use UCINET
to convert it to .net file. It's too complicated.
:(
In the package of "igraph", edgelist is

about power.law.fit
Dear all,
I'm using igraph for some analysis about the network I have. I have a
question about the function "power.law.fit".
I wonder if there is any test for checking whether the "power.law.fit" is
good for the input, i.e., under which situation, could we use this function
to get a reliable result. I'm afraid even I input a random graph without any
property of

Good Evening,
I contacted Martin Maechler (maechler at stat.math.ethz.ch) and was advised to
contact you for input on the question below...thanks!
I am very new with the R experience, all I know is that it's computer
language & coding... I'm trying to plot a regression graph for runif (100,
1000, 10000). What am I not getting here, I can get the values in R no
problem, but no idea how to turn it

AutoFDO sample profiles v. SelectInst,
I am looking for advice on a problem observed with
-fprofile-sample-use for samples built with the AutoFDO tool
I took the "hmmer" benchmark out of SPEC2006
It is initially compiled
clnag++ -o hmmer -O3 -std=gnu89 -DSPEC_CPU -DNDEBUG -fno-strict-aliasing -w -g *.c
This baseline binary runs in about 164.2 seconds as reported by "perf stat"

Error calling "read.table" from Python
Hello,Everybody,
Now I am using R (D)COM Server from Python to manipulate some data. When I
try to use "read.table" function to read some data, an error occurred.
However these statements work well when they are input to R directly. It is
so odd.
The Python scripts are as the following,
from win32com.client import Dispatch
sc=Dispatch("StatConnectorSrv.StatConnector")

Can't run KVM Virtual Machines on a Gluster volume
I just built a 2 node(4 bricks), Distributed-Replicated and everything mounts fine.
Each node mounts using GlusterFS client on its hostname (mount -t glusterfs hostname:VOLUME /virtual-machines)
When creating a new Virtual Machine using virt-manager it creates the file on the storage, but when trying to power it On, it doesn't work and gives back an error message.(See below. Yes the folder has

how to get degree according to the name of the node?
Hi all,
I have two networks for the same group of the users.
I want to compare individual's degree in different networks.
But how could I get the degrere of the nodes according to its name?
When I use degree(g1), I could only get a vector of the degree of each node.
But when I turn to g2, I don't know whose degree it is so I can't match it
with the degree(g2).
Now I'm trying to

undefined method `function_extlookup'
Trying to use extlookup from within template i use

According to http://docs.puppetlabs.com/guides/templating.html#access-to-variables-and-puppet-functions-with-the-scope-object
this should work.

Samba (+ NAV?) and bad printer names?
At 4:00 every morning the 2 WinXP machines on my network generate a slew
of queries to bad printer names. These names are variations on the name
of a valid printer exported by Samba.
Samba v3.0.10 is running on a RHEL4 system. It exports several shared
drives and a single printer. The printer is named "lj4500", is managed by
CUPS v1.1.22, and works correctly via Samba from both

LLVM Alias Analysis
Dear LLVM Developers,
My name is Artem Vopilov, I am a student at TU Darmstadt. I am writing to you to ask about Alias Analysis.
I am using llvm to analyze alias between variables in programs. I am using Alias Analysis implemented in llvm with command "opt -analyze -aa-eval -print-all-alias-modref-info" and for printing sets of alias "opt -analyze -aa-eval -print-alias-sets".
