Problems using "configfile" dhcp option with pxelinux
Hello, I have been trying to use the "configfile" option in the DHCP response to specify a specific config file when booting. When I specify this in my /etc/dhcpd.conf file the kernel and initrd are transferred, but the kernel does not boot. I am using v2.04 of pxelinux. I would appreciate any help anyone might be able to give. If I remove the "configfile" dhcp option and

samba-tool domain backup online && --configfile
Hi Tim, then I believe there is a bug. I did not specify the option and it used /etc/smb.conf rather than the correct /etc/samba/smb.conf. I was running a local backup on DC with Louis build 4.10.6 on ubuntu 18.04.2. Shall I open a ticket? samba-tool domain backup online && --configfile
On https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Back_up_and_Restoring_a_Samba_AD_DC#Online_DC_backup there is a comment ?you may want to specify a --configfile option so that the correct smb.conf settings get included in the backup.? Why does samba-tool not pick up the one it (or other parts of Samba) is compiled with automatically? Like `smbd -b | grep "CONFIGFILE" | sed -n -E

PXEboot: can't find configfile on tftpd server
Hello, I've got several machines which I'm trying to netboot, the setup is a bootserver using dhcpd3 and tftpd-hpa. When a machine boots up, it gets an ip address and downloads pxelinux.0 from the server, then it starts searching for pxelinux.cfg/[MACADDRESS] pxelinux.cfg/0A0000F0 and so on. On the server side I see in the syslog the client's DHCP-request and the client downloading

updating TDB user/group entries to RID
Hi, I wonder if there are any tools to simplify transition from TDB to RID on existing system in production. Long story short, by mistake one of our servers were configured with default idmap set to a range: idmap config * : backend = tdb idmap config * : range = 3000-7999 The server had joined domain and everything works just fine however I may need to fix user/group ids and make it like

Determine the Length of the Longest Word in a String
Hi Everyone, I'm new to programming R and have accomplished my goal, but feel that there is probably a more efficient way of coding this. I'd appreciate any guidance that a more advanced programmer can provide. My goal -- I would like to find the length of the longest word in a string containing many words separated by spaces. How I did it -- I was able to find the length of the

XML vm configfile with Display using QEMU GTK interface
Hello guys, I'm trying to start a VM using the QEMU GTK Display Interface instead of a SDL window. But I'm failing. My actual setting is using SDL with this XML line: <graphics type='sdl' display=':0.0' xauth='/home/ploog/.Xauthority'/> I changed to: <graphics type='gtk'> But it fails to start the VM. Any ideias? Thanks in advance,

template shell RFC2307 loginShell
Thank you Rowland for looking at it. I did read the wiki here https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Idmap_config_ad that is how I got as far as I did; that and the idmap_ad man page. I could not find how to use the loginShell is there a variable I can use for it in the template or an option to set to use it? loginShell and unixHomedir are not mentioned on the wiki that I could find. exten => *0. not possible
Hi all, It seems that using exten => _*0. is not possible in extensions.conf. I changed disconnect => *0 in features.conf to something else. From what I can tell with the little C knowledge I have is that it's caused by a hardcoded *0 value chan_zap.c. Line 5730 of chan_zap.c (svn rev 1077) shows: } else if (!strcmp(exten, "*0")) { struct ast_channel *nbridge =

Efficient Way to gather data from various files
Hello, Sorry if this process is too simple for this list. I know I can do it, but I always read online about how when using R one should always try to avoid loops and use vectors. I am wondering if there exists a more "R friendly" way to do this than to use for loops. I have a dataset that has a list of "ID"s. Let's call this dataset "Master" Each of these

RSYNC spawns two child processes
I am new to RSYNC but it appears to me that RSYNC spawns off two child processes, both doing a REMSH access to the remote system? This does not appear to be documented. I am guessing that the reason for this is that the first child process is used to read the list of files to be transferred (descend the directory tree) and the second child process is actually used to transfer the files? This would

rsync via crontab spawns over 20 processes
Hi all, I've been running rsync via cron for a while now and all is well. However on one particular new 5.5 box, whenever its runs via crontab, the machine ends up with over 20 rsync processes and a load of ~14 and eventually the machine dies. But when running manually, I see it spawn 3 processes with a load of 1.5. My rsync command is simply; rsync --delete -avvH --progress source

kio_http spawns multiple processes
Hello All: I've narrowed an earlier issue down to a problem with kio_http. This one is much easier to reproduce: In a KDE session, open Konsole terminal. In the Konsole session, type a bogus web address. E.g.: http://magoo.ca Right click the link and select "Open Link" In a few seconds you should get multiple notifications on the desktop and several kio_http processes spawned.
