cluster of 3 nodes and san
Hi list, I need a little help, I currently have a cluster with vmware and 3 nodes, I have a storage (Dell powervault) connected by FC in redundancy, and I'm thinking of migrating it to proxmox since the maintenance costs are very expensive, but the Doubt is if I can use glusterfs with a san connected by FC? , It is advisable? , I add another data, that in another site I have another cluster

Hi, Please let us know what commands you ran so far and the output of the *gluster volume info* command. Do you have sharding enabled ? If yes, don't do it. If no I'll let someone who knows better answer you :) On Mon, Sep 25, 2017 at 02:27:13PM -0400, Ludwig Gamache wrote: > All, > > We currently have a Gluster installation which is made of 2 servers. Creating cluster replica on 2 nodes 2 bricks each.
Hello We are trying to setup Gluster for our project/scratch storage HPC machine using a replicated mode with 2 nodes, 2 bricks each (14tb each). Our goal is to be able to have a replicated system between node 1 and 2 (A bricks) and add an additional 2 bricks (B bricks) from the 2 nodes. so we can have a total of 28tb replicated mode. Node 1 [ (Brick A) (Brick B) ] Node 2 [ (Brick A) (Brick

Gluster 3.3 - good to use?
Hi All. I want to use mentioned version of glusterfs in a simple master/slave setup (production servers). Two nodes have a replicated volume and the both mount it using glusterfs. What are your experiences with gluster 3.3? Is it stable? Have you had any serious problems? I do not have much experience with gluster and would like to avoid problems if possible. Best regards, Rafal Radecki.

compatibility between 3.3 and 3.4
Hi all, We're playing around with new versions and uprading options. We currently have a 2x2x2 stripped-distributed-replicated volume based on 3.3.0 and we're planning to upgrade to 3.4 version. We've tried upgrading fist the clients and we've tried with 3.4.0, 3.4.1 and 3.4.2qa2 but all of them caused the same error: Failed to get stripe-size So it seems as if 3.4 clients are

Gluster and NFS-Ganesha - cluster is down after reboot
Hi Gluster users, First, I'd like to thank you all for this amazing open-source! Thank you! I'm working on home project ? three servers with Gluster and NFS-Ganesha. My goal is to create HA NFS share with three copies of each file on each server. My systems are CentOS 7.3 Minimal install with the latest updates and the most current RPMs from "centos-gluster310" repository. I

Adding bricks to an existing installation.
All, We currently have a Gluster installation which is made of 2 servers. Each server has 10 drives on ZFS. And I have a gluster mirror between these 2. The current config looks like: SERVER A-BRICK 1 replicated to SERVER B-BRICK 1 I now need to add more space and a third server. Before I do the changes, I want to know if this is a supported config. By adding a third server, I simply want to

Clarification on cluster quorum
Hi, I'm looking for an option to add an arbiter node to the gluster cluster, but the leads I've been following seem to lead to inconclusive results. The scenario is, a 2 node replicated cluster. What I want to do is introduce a fake host/arbiter node which would set the cluster to a 3 node meaning, we can meet the conditions of allow over 50% to write (ie. 2 can write, 1 can not).

[ovirt-users] slow performance with export storage on glusterfs
Hello If you use Gluster as FUSE mount it's always slower than you expect it to be. If you want to get better performance out of your oVirt/Gluster storage, try the following: - create a Linux VM in your oVirt environment, assign 4/8/12 virtual disks (Virtual disks are located on your Gluster storage volume). - Boot/configure the VM, then use LVM to create VG/LV with 4 stripes (lvcreate -i

default cluster.stripe-block-size for striped volumes on 3.0.x vs 3.3 beta (128kb), performance change if i reduce to a smaller block size?
Hi, I've been migrating data from an old striped 3.0.x gluster install to a 3.3 beta install. I copied all the data to a regular XFS partition (4K blocksize) from the old gluster striped volume and it totaled 9.2TB. With the old setup I used the following option in a "volume stripe" block in the configuration file in a client : volume stripe type cluster/stripe option

Creating cluster replica on 2 nodes 2 bricks each.
Hi Jose, Gluster is working as expected. The Distribute-replicated type just means that there are now 2 replica sets and files will be distributed across them. A volume of type Replicate (1xn where n is the number of bricks in the replica set) indicates there is no distribution (all files on the volume will be present on all the bricks in the volume). A volume of type Distributed-Replicate

Adding a new replica to the cluster
I get a timeout when trying to force start the volume from serv3, but I can stop the volume ... Isn't the error linked to "0-glusterfs: failed to submit rpc-request" ? (from the log i send in the first place) Merwan ________________________________ De : Atin Mukherjee <amukherj at redhat.com> Envoy? : dimanche 4 juin 2017 15:31:34 ? : Merwan Ouddane Cc : gluster-users Objet
