HA8 cards and RED alarm
Hi, I have 2 servers: one is running 2 B410P cards with 8 euroisdn lines (mISDN) connected on it, everything runs fine. I prepare a new server - HP 360 G8- with 2 HA8 cards each of them 1 module of 4 lines. Already had with this machine an RMA on both cards as they was faulty and crashed the server. What happends is that when I connect cables on the HA8 modules (those cables are unpluged

Questions on hardware or software-based echo cancellation
Hi, I'm having some questions related to echo cancellation configuration on a Digium board enabled systems (B410P, TE420, TE420B, ....) for cases when a hardware ech canceller is present or not. I read in TEXXX manual that when setting echocancel=yes in chan_dahdi.conf on a VPMOCT64-equiped system, 128ms hardware echo cancellation was enabled. 1. I'm correct thinking that it is then

Digium HA8. Does settings order matters (in system.conf) ?
Hi, I'm reading Digium HA8 manual (page 55). It lists several parameters that can be used to configure a BRI port. More precisely, it suggests that : Term, is the last parameter NT/TE is the one just before (starting from the end). If I'm not mistaken, it seems dahdi_genconf generates /etc/dahdi/system.conf files in which both parameters order is reversed : # Span 1: WCBRI/0/0

RT/Linux SCHED_RR/_FIXED to combat latency?
Good morning! We're experiencing rather very bad latency spikes on busy Linux systems, for example if one machine is the jumphost (ssh -J) for a few hundred connections, while at the same time handles CPU intensive tasks. Would RT/Linux SCHED_FIXED or SCHED_RR be of help in such a case, e.g. put all ssh processes into the SCHED_FIXED scheduling class, with a priority higher than the

HA8 + B400M not configured with genconf_parameters
Hi, On a Lenny system, with dahdi 2.4.0, libpri 1.4.11.5 and asterisk 1.6.1.18, I inserted a new Digium HA8 + B400M card. My usual installation fails. I can see it listed : # lspci -n | grep d161 01:0b.0 0200: d161:8007 (rev 11) # lspci -vn 01:0b.0 0200: d161:8007 (rev 11) Subsystem: d161:8007 Flags: medium devsel, IRQ 22 I/O ports at d400 [size=256] Memory at

Custom CentOS DVD, isolinux.bin, and isohybrid...
I was given a custom CentOS 5.4 DVD, containing some Digium software for one of our customers. I need to turn this burned DVD into an image that can be written to a USB thumb drive. First, I ripped the DVD to an ISO image. That part works OK, my testing VM can load and run the custom kickstart script on the image. After totally frying my unetbootin install, I decided to try and use isohybrid

How to set a HA8 board + B400M in NT mode ?
Hi, 1. Is there any manual entry about modprobe's options relative to a given Dahdi driver (wctdm24xxp, for instance) ? 2. When loading a wctdm24xxp driver, is there any parameter to pass to modprobe to configure a span in NT/point to point mode ? 3. After running dahdi_cfg -vvvvv , I can read with dmesg : [ 1986.289277] wctdm24xxp 0000:04:06.0: xhfc: Configuring port 0 span 1 in TE mode

ChanSpy performance sub-optimal
I'm trying to get ChansSpy to work. It works, in the pass/fail sense, but it is difficult to understand the various speakers. I can hear users on our end just fine, but the other end sounds like their going through a vocoder, if I can understand them at all. Otherwise it is just garbled. We are using the following setup: all of our phones are SIP phones; for our outgoing calls we make use of a

How to configure NT/ptmp with Dahdi and BRI ?

Evaluating a port to RTEMS (embedded OS with single address space and no processes)
Hello, I am searching a SSH server for remote administration of an embedded application running on RTEMS (https://www.rtems.org). This environment has neither virtual memory nor user and kernel space. So this is like an application running in kernel mode only. Would it be possible to run (a very basic version of) OpenSSH in such an environment using e.g. threads instead of forking new
