E-Mail Encryption
Hello,
I am new to Dovecot but installation was quite easy, so there is one
more LDAP authenticated, Dovecot / Postfix mailbox online, but there is
one question left:
I would like to set up a configuration, which encrypts every user mail
with a unique key. If user logs in, private key should be decrypted with
user password and every mail user requests should be decrypted with
users private key.

Encryption
Hi all,
I recently came across a possible requirement of backing up certain files on
a remote server ... in an encrypted format.
This got me seriously thinking about the possibility of doing such a thing
with rsync.
I am not too knowledgable about encryption and the mechanisms of the rsync
algorithm (at least as yet :), but I would like to know whether this is
attainable or 'far fetched'

Why did Intel change his static branch prediction mechanism during these years?
( I don't know if it's allowed to ask such question, if not, please remind me. )
I know Intel implemented several static branch prediction mechanisms
these years:
* 80486 age: Always-not-take
* Pentium4 age: Backwards Taken/Forwards Not-Taken
* PM, Core2: Didn't use static prediction, randomly depending on
what happens to be in corresponding BTB entry , according to agner's

openldap authentication
I have an existing openldap schema which is handling mail, web and ftp
services right now. I am trying to get a windows machine talking to the
same filesystem as apache on linux via samba and read/write using the
correct uid/gid. I was trying to shy away from using pam_ldap as there is
no need to tie the user in ldap directly to the filesystem. The problem is
it looks like the samba ldap module

Encryption solution for messages at rest
Hi,
We have clients with various security & compliance requirements. Although not required, it would be ideal to have messages encrypted at rest. We already use SSL/TLS to secure the transmission of most email. However, it would be nice to have them encrypted sitting on our server. Is anyone doing this? I think that ideally, rather than full-disk encryption, we should use an encryption that

context being ignored by inbound sip call
hello-
i was messing around with a did from ipkall.com, and asterisk seems
to be ignoring the context specified in the sip config.
in sip.conf, i've added:
[7508] ;ipkall
type = peer
dtmfmode = rfc2833
context = remote
callerid = "ipkall incoming" <7508>
nat = no
in extensions,conf, i have:

RFE: MD5 encryption with for plain text passwords
Hi,
due to compatibility issues with mail clients I think I have to use
plain text authentication. In order to secure the passwords during
their transport I'll use SSL encryption.
After reading some documentation I think that I'll have to store the
passwords as plain text in the authdb. That is something I dislike
very much as it is a (imho) good tradition for unix to store only

Branches
I've got more changes on my to-do list, but I want to ensure I'm
making my changes against the right branch.
* I'm working with trunk now. I don't think its TCP tunneling is as
secure as the UDP tunneling. It looks like its IVs and HMACs are
added and verified in send_udppacket and receive_udppacket. The TCP
connection encrypts but doesn't have these anti-modification

Feature Suggestion - scp don't decrypt file at destination unecrypt on copy back switch
Hi all,
Please pardon me if this has been discussed already on this list.
I searched on "destination" and did not find a hit.
The problem I am trying solve is having backups on a remote server
that even root cannot not read. I have seen lot's of specialized file
systems and volume drivers for various operating systems. But being
that all files are already scp'd to the

Mess code when encryption
Hi everyone,
I have a question about using encryption in Gluster FS.
1.Created a file (file size is smaller than 1k) in the volume?s mount point.
2.Read the file, finally got a mess code.
I found that the content I got is from cache and no decryption is operated on the file content, so mess code returns.
If I set the following property to off, then everything is OK.

Encryption Plugin
Hi,
There was a discussion a few months ago about a plugin for encrypting
email before it hit the disk on the server, and doing transparent
decryption while serving data to the client, see:
http://www.dovecot.org/list/dovecot/2009-July/041262.html
We have a client/user who is interested in such a plugin, and I was
wondering if there has been any progress on it yet. In our particular
case,

Asynchronous Encryption?
Hi Railers,
I''m looking for something to do asynchronous encryption - where the encryption
and decryption keys are different. This is for a scenario where I want to be
able to store some information in the database that can only be decrypted in
a different physical location using a secret private key (which will not be
stored on the machine doing the encrypting).
I''m trying

Problem is for that this is a new user. The new user has no private key. I
need for generating that private key. It do not the sense encrypts
something using a key public if there is no private key. Both key public
