unexpected 'reinitialize disk?' prompt form anaconda during kickstart with zerombr
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Anyone have any thoughts on why anaconda might be prompting me to reinitialize the disk during the kickstart of a Centos6.4 install on hyperV when a) the kickstart file contains "zerombr" as referred to in the installation guide[1] b) installation proceeds with no prompt on KVM hypervisors and succeeds? I have read the release notes[2]/tech

Printing Problem with Samba running on Solaris 2.5.1
Hello, Until 2 weeks ago, Samba 1.9.18 running on my Solaris 2.5.1 system was working perfectly OK - both the printers and the shared directories on the Unix server can be accessed from Win95/Win NT clients but right now, we can still access the shared directories and the printers but the jobs sent from the PC clients to the printers/plotters don't come out. Initially, when Samba was set

CentOS 6 : Network Interface Naming
Hello All, I have one CentOS 6 KVM virtualization server that I built around a year ago (best I can tell it was in October 2012) at which time I would have been installing 6.3 [0]. That particular install used the Consistent Network Device Naming [1] conventions (PCIe NICs are p1p1, p1p2). I started to build out a new KVM virt server (kickstarting a 6.4 install now as compared to 6.3 back then)

CentOS 6.3 packages updates options without upgrading.
Thanks very much, understood. so, it seems, upgrading selected packages is probably going to be fine except where the compatibility matters where it would break all kinds of things. Something of such nature of request would need to be internally tested by simply updating the selected packages, test the applications previously running on 6.3 w/ these few selected 6.8 packages updates. It seems,

virt-v2v / virt-p2v
Hi all, Trying to figure out how virt-p2v works to convert an ubuntu. First, I do not understand why do I need an ISO image to make it run ? Can you explain me quickly ? Can't I directly use your source tarballs ? Having a look in my RHN account, redhat6.3 is not out so no ISO to download yet. By the way, the provided link

Overdue upgrade of bind
I am **FINALLY** starting in on upgrading my domain server. Right now it is still on bind-9.3.6 via Centos 5.5. Stepping right up to 9.8.2 in Centos 6.3. I am pretty good with zone files and the like, though I will finally get to tackle DNSSEC (and I can go to the sources Austien, Vixie, and Liu if need be or even the bind list!), but right now I have much more mundane issues. Is a guide to installing Centos 6 32 bit that covers such things like: Minimal Kickstart example file Centos 6 multimedia repos Plus any other things I need to be aware of when moving from 5.8 to 6.2 (I know the latest version is 6.3 but I will let yum deal with that when I upgrade the installed packages.)
