CentOS and Bash History
Hi, I was wondering if bash or inputrc has changed form CentOS v4 to CentOS v5? Reason I ask is at the bash cli I can type, for example 'su' and then with the up and down arrows I can scroll through my history and will only see the commands that begin with 'su'. In CentOS 5 this isn't the case. I have added some code to my inputrc file to make this work in CentOS 4 as

Can anyone tell me if there are plans to update Firefox to the new 3.0 for Centos 4.5? Seems like only the 1.5 version has been placed in the repos and I think it should be time for an upgrade. If I'm looking in the wrong place let me know also. Thnx. -- Regards Robert Smile... it increases your face value! Linux User #296285 http://counter.li.org

Centos & UPS
Hello, I received for X-mas an APC UPS system form my computer. I'm looking for how I can integrate it into the system so that the system will shut down either after the UPS power is low enough or a timed event after the power is out will automatically shutdown. Would also like it to be smart enough to stop the shut down process if power is restored before the shutdown starts. Anyone

64 bit
Hello, Presently I am considering using CentOS as my base OS. I am wondering about a few things though. I like KVirc as my irc program. I have had issue with compiling it in 64bit mode under Fedora 3 and was todl it was because Fedora installs both 32 and 64 bit libs and the compiler didn't understnad which to use. Will this be an issue with CentOS 4 also? If I install the 64 bit

Use of KDEs kprinter as printer device?
Hi, I'd like to be able to use KDEs kprinter (kprinter --stdin) as alternative printer for my wine driven apps (e.g. winword). What I like especially is the fine working PDF printer and the feature to attach the PDF immediately to an email. I tried already the cups-pdf printer. But this driver doesn't create valid PDF for my MS WORD document. KPDF and Acrobat are at least not able to

dumb, dumb question
I''m very new to shorewall. My setup is IP Gateway (CentOS 4 + Shorewall) with 3 NIC cards. Shorewall works great on the firewall machine. Bind also works (local net machines get IPs fine). Under firestarter, all works great. With shorewall, the loc machines can not route past the firewall. They can connect to the firewall, but not past it. Exactly what information should I post to get

[RFC] NEC SX-Aurora VE backend
Hello, we’d like to propose the integration of a new backend into LLVM: NEC SX-Aurora TSUBASA Vector Engine (VE). We hope to get some feedback here and at EuroLLVM about the path and proper procedure of merging. The SX-Aurora VE is a Vector CPU on an PCI-E Accelerator card. It has 48GB memory from six HBM2 stacks, accessible with 1.2TB/s bandwidth, 8 cores with vector and scalar units, each.

Maybe Shoreline with webmin.... Problem is I want a REAL router/firewall with little work. Both public and private nets have routable addresses. No NATing for me! I just help write the RFC ;) And all the
