Install of CentOS 7.6 On Dell PowerEdge R830 Hangs
James, Actually we noticed that we've been running some old setup for our PXE boot/kickstart setup, so we're going to try just doing it with UEFI and see where that gets us. Mark, I did go into the BIOS to see if that made any difference, and didn't see anything to set/unset . That was the problem. Facts: - boot cd and setup / operation of freebsd 6.x or 7.0 is fine Message log abstract: $ uname -v FreeBSD 7.0-RELEASE-p7 #0: Sun Dec 21 08:31:52 UTC 2008

I have a couple of Intel-based systems that do UEFI PXE boot okay, but they're much newer than the 11th gen PowerEdge (I have some of those still in

UEFI memdisk freeze
Hi all, My computer is booted with UEFI and Grub2. I tried to load VHD files with memdisk and boot from there. memdisk is extracted from 'bios/memdisk' in syslinux 6.03 zip file. In Grub2, I executed: linux16 /memdisk harddisk initrd16 /Win10.vhd Then the system frozen at 'initrd16' line. The VHD file is 8192MB, fixed image. I also tried to boot a small floppy disk (FreeDOS), and

CentOS-6.3 / x86_64 UEFI Installer Released
The regular installer we released for CentOS-6.3 does not work for UEFI enabled machine instances that do not have a BIOS fallback mode ( this includes physical machines as well as some virtualised environments ). To address this problem, we are releasing another minimal install image for CentOS-6.3/x86_64. This image has been tested on various IBM, HP and Dell hardware along with VMWare and

Kernel Panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill Init!
Just installed CentOS 6.3 from a minimal install disc. All was well, so I ran a yum update, as well as installed some additional packages (mysql, httpd, libjpeg, libpng, and more that I don't remember off the top of my head). Went to reboot the machine and now it won't book up. As it starts to boot, says: Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init! Pid: 1, comm: init Not

Unable to get syslinux.efi to work, grub2 boots tho
Hi, I am trying to get a UEFI bootable USB. And I am unable to make it working. I have two x86_64 systems and both of them 'hangs' when I choose to boot UEFI from USB. I've created fat32 formated partition with ef00 type. I placed EFI/BOOT there with content of efi64/ distribution, I've created syslinux.cfg and renamed syslinux.efi to BOOTX64.EFI. However, it does just
