Mongo backend for userdb and passdb
Hi, I was wondering if any work had been made (out of tree) or has been planned for a mongo driver? If not is it something that would be of any interest for being included? Regards, Damien

recommended methods/software for videocasting
An acquaintance is considering videocasting speakers at a conference and using a Twitter product called Periscope. I'd like to recommend an open source solution. While I've never offered videos over the web, I have made audios available, and all it entailed was placing the file on the website and putting its url on a visible webpage. I wouldn't think any more than that is

Obtaining the chroot-cage directory of the mailstore
Hello, I'd like to find a function in the sourcecode which enables me to get the chroot-path of the mailstore, so I can concatenate it with the result of mail_storage_get_mailbox_path to get the full path of a mailbox within the filesystem. Does such a function exist? Who can help me? Thanks in advance. Stefan -- SIEGNETZ.IT GmbH { w3o-services } Schneppenkauten 1a D-57076 Siegen

Outlook Express Mailstore on Samba share
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi list, last Thursday I upgraded a samba installation from 2.2.12 to 3.0.14a. Everything went fine with the debian packages. But... All roaming profiles are registry hacked to place the OE mailstore onto the home drive and this worked fine for the last two years. Now after the upgrade all of my users complain about corrupt dbx files. Can anyone tell

Dovecot / FreeBSD / Nfs mailstore / Index=memory
Hello, I have recently changed imap from Courier-imap to dovecot because of serial problems with courier-imap, I have being forced to do it very quickly... and without extensives tests. I have 3 mails servers (freebsd based) behind a load balancer and a nfs mailstore on a netapp. On my first tests I have setup the index into some nfs shared mount, but it seems that some imap clients are

Auto-duplicate mailstore?
I am looking for something that is similar to replication, but without a second server. I currently have a system setup using postfix bcc to write out copies of all email, but what I would rather do is just have all the mail written to /usr/local/virtual/%u/Maildir and also to /backup/usr/local/virtual/%u/Maildir (for example) as this will make restoring messages much simpler. -- Gods don't

Dovecot mailstore performance tuning
HI All, We have a couple of dovecot director proxies and six backed mailstores each accessing mailboxes stored on five NFSv4 filsystems with about 1TB of mail on each in maildir format.? We have about 800 max users on each mailstore at peak times and performance appears to starting to degrade at these times.? The mailstores are pretty recent hardware with 64GB of RAM and 24 cores.?? POLL: v2.2 to allow one mail over quota?
Currently if user is 1MB under quota and someone tries to deliver mail that is over 1MB, Dovecot rejects the mail. But smaller mails aren't rejected probably for days. So user might not even realize that they didn't receive one of the mails. Also having a user "almost over quota" is a rather strange state I think. So what do you think about v2.2 allowing delivery of one last

Dovecot + DRBD/GFS mailstore
Hi guys, I'm looking at the possibility of running a pair of servers with Dovecot LDA/imap/pop3 using internal drives with DRBD and GFS (or other clustered FS) for the mail storage and ext3 for the root drive. I'm currently using maildrop for delivery and Dovecot imap/pop3 with the stores over NFS. I'm looking for better performance but still keeping the HA element I have now with

Stats/Metrics in 2.3
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA512 Greetings, So the changes to the stats modules between v2.2 and v2.3 have broken some of my monitoring. I am attempting to use the new method of gathering "metrics" from "events" - but the details in the documentation are a bit thin. I started with the examples provided at https://wiki2.dovecot.org/Statistics and tried to

packet rearranging questions
Hello again. If you recall, I am the guy working on enabling Audacity to losslessly rearrange Ogg Vorbis files for my senior thesis. I have more or less completed the required modifications to Audacity to support this. You can read more about the work this entailed by reading my journal: http://www.reverberate.org/computers/thesis/journal Now my attention moves to the Ogg Vorbis code

Released Pigeonhole v0.4.4 for Dovecot v2.2.15.
Hello Dovecot users, It's been about 5 months since the last Pigeonhole release, so it is high time for a new one. However, the main reason to make a release now is the fact that Dovecot v2.2.15 has one change that causes problems with the previous release of Pigeonhole. Unlike recent earlier releases, this release has a few big new features. Most notably, I implemented a generic Sieve

Bug#260743: logcheck-database: dhcp rule updates for failover support
Package: logcheck-database Version: 1.2.23 Severity: minor Hi, a couple of minor corrections to the dhcp rule sets: First of all, the hostname matching parts need to include the "._-" signs (maybe . is not needed but it might be). Then when using failover, log lines of type DHCPDISCOVER and DHCPREQUEST may be entailed by the string ": load balance to peer <somestring>".

Bad exit status from dsync
I just tried to migrate one of my users from maildir to mdbox using dsync. My conversion script is checking the dsync exit code to know if the conversion goes fine or not, and surprisingly dsync returned "0" at the same time as it gave the error: Error: Failed to sync mailbox .ta\ vare\ p? ... (sorry, lost the rest of the error message) Changing the folder name to mUTF7 manually
