Megacli issue with Xen PERC 5/i Poweredge 2950 II
I am having an issue with Megacli when adding or removing virtual
disks. I will post a link to fpaste that has the issue shown.
In brief whenever i add, or remove, a virtual disk via MegaCli the
attempt succeeds and the adapter is configured but the OS remounts dm-0
in read only. dm-0 is my root lv. This issue does not happen if i boot
into the default, non Xen, CentOS kernel. On stock

CentOS 7 - Have 2 disks, each with a biosboot partition, can only boot off one of them
Hi all,
I used a kickstart script to setup a new machine of mine with RAID 1
(I couldn't get anaconda to create matching partition schemes). So I've
now got /dev/sdg1 and /dev/sdh1 as 'bios_grub' (/dev/sd{a-f} are a
separate array).
0 root at an-nas02:~# parted /dev/sdg print free
Model: ATA ST3000NC000 (scsi)
Disk /dev/sdg: 3001GB

BTW, I am using xen-3.2-1.

Modify Iptables Rules (virbr0 & virbr1)
Hi,
I have some guests running in the "default" network (virbr0) and I've
also created a similar (NAT) network (virbr1). Therefore, the FORWARD
chain for the CentOS 6.4 host looks like this:
http://fpaste.org/29229/75281379/
...where line 3-7 are related to virbr0 and 8-12 to virbr1. My 2 questions:
1) I've noticed that I can ping from a guest within virbr0 to any guest

I am seeing this crashing happening, I am working on the self healing errors as well, not sure if the two are related. I would appreciate any direction on trying to resolve the issue, I have clients dropping connection daily.

Check out the redirection at the end of each command. 1>&2 redirects
the standard out of your child command to the standard error which then
appears in the parent shell. At the end the last & launches your
command into a background shell and then moves on to launch the next
command. The redirections don't care if the command ever terminates.
The result is that both commands

How to setup own i686 buildenv for CentOS7
Hi, all!
How to setup own i686 mock for CentOS7?
Or, is there any public i686 repo for CentOS7?
I found i686 repo available in internal CentOS building environment, from a
root.log from a mock build result[1].

CLI speed tester for CentOS?
I'd like to run a CLI broadband speed tester on my CentOS server.
I downloaded "tespeed" from <http://sourceforge.net/projects/tespeed/>.
This ran fine under Fedora-19, but failed under CentOS
with the message "# reject large message",
although from a quick look at the source
it did not seem to be using a large test-file.
Does anyone know of an alternative CLI

migrating from Centos 5.8 -> 6.3 LDAP Client Config
Hi,
I run a Centos 5.8 samba server which uses a separate LDAP centos 6.3
server for user and group authentication.
Now we migrate to a new centos 6.3 samba server and I'd like to know how
do 'ldapify' that new server the best way.
I'm a bit confused if I can use the same nss setup like on the current
old server or how and what to configure to go with SSSD?
May be someone can

Installing CIFS on CentOS4
Hello,
I have a CentOS4 install and I am trying to mount a Windows Server 2008
folder. When I use this command:
mount -t cifs //10.1.1.17/Org/MR\ Ops/ test, it only mounts the Org folder.
When I try the same thing on a newer computer (Fedora 15), it mounts all
the way to MR Ops. So I am pretty sure that my cifs file needs to be
updated, but I am having a really hard time doing this. I updated
