What's left for libguestfs 1.8 ...
Although 1.6.0 was only released 6 weeks ago, there have been 276
commits and 23 releases since then. It's therefore time to think
about what needs to be done for 1.8.
This is my personal list. Please follow up if you have other
suggestions.

libguestfs preview for RHEL 7.4
With the release of RHEL 7.3 happening today, fixing 88 reported bugs
in libguestfs and virt-v2v, and countless other ones, it's time to
look ahead to RHEL 7.4.
Again we intend to rebase libguestfs, virt-v2v and virt-p2v:

Re: libguestfs preview for RHEL 7.4
Just a friendly reminder that RHEL 7.4 preview packages of libguestfs
and virt-v2v are available. You should be able to use them on top of
either RHEL 7.3 or CentOS 7.3.

ANNOUNCE: libguestfs & virt-v2v RHEL 7.3 preview packages available
If you are running RHEL 7.2 betas or snapshots (or RHEL 7.2 when it
comes out next month) then you may be interested in trying out the
newer RHEL 7.3 preview versions of:
- libguestfs
- virt-v2v (Supported since RHEL 7.2)
- virt-p2v (Technical Preview in RHEL 7.2, Supported in RHEL 7.3)
I intend to release upstream 1.32 towards the end of this year, and
rebase libguestfs to that version. For

The road to libguestfs 1.20
I've got some bad news: libvirt remote support is probably not going
to make libguestfs 1.20. John Eckersberg is diligently working on
this, but I don't want to hold up the release of the next stable
libguestfs for this, particularly since it needs dependent changes in
libvirt.
The last stable branch of libguestfs (1.18) happened in the middle of
May. That's 7 months ago, making

Plan for libguestfs 1.22
It has been 5 months since the last stable release of libguestfs and
over that time we've accumulated many exciting new features:

libguestfs for RHEL 6.5 preview repository
In RHEL 6.5 we are probably going to rebase libguestfs, febootstrap
and virt-v2v.
As usual when this happens, I've put up a preview repository:
http://oirase.annexia.org/tmp/libguestfs-RHEL-6.5/
If you want to use these packages, the easiest thing to do is to copy
the attached file into /etc/yum.repos.d/ and simply install or upgrade
libguestfs.
If you want to test libguestfs, obviously

Plan for libguestfs 1.36
Libguestfs 1.34 was released on 2016-08-08, which is about 6 months
ago. I'd would like to think about what needs work for the next
stable 1.36 release, which might happen at the end of this month.
Any new APIs added in the 1.35 cycle will become supported and
guaranteed when we release 1.36, so we need to check those. See:
git diff v1.34.0 -- generator/actions.ml

C 7 installation annoyances
*** This response is my personal opinion and may not reflect that of my employer. ***
It seems recent updates to Anaconda and in particular Blivet in the CentOS 7 .iso are restricting things rather than expanding the options. We have a scenario where we are doing a CentOS 6 to CentOS 7 upgrade (replacement) using a backup partition to hold the install image. Over the years, as we added cloud

NOTICE: RHEL 6.3 preview package repository has been removed
Since RHEL 6.3 has been released, I have removed the RHEL 6.3 preview
repository (the one located at people.redhat.com/~rjones). If you
added this as a yum repo, you can remove it and things should continue
to work.

Plan for libguestfs 1.26
It has been 3 months since the last stable release of libguestfs.
I'd like to plan a new 1.26 release towards the middle/end of next month.
There are some virt-builder features I'd like to get in before then:
- virt-builder needs to be able to use Linux distro published cloud
images as a source (without requiring a lot of manual config as
now)
- virt-builder must be able to

Re: Plan for libguestfs 1.28
HI, Richard
Is there any plan to make daemon to directly run on the hypervisor,
not starting a guest? e.g. directly export a guest image to be a block
device on the hypervisor?

Plan for libguestfs 1.32
Libguestfs 1.30 was released on 2015-07-21 and because of my wish to
rebase libguestfs in RHEL 7.3, I'd like to release 1.32 in early
December.
Please follow-up if there are features / blockers / bugs that need to
be addressed for 1.32.

It has been a ludicrously long time (over 8 months) since the last

soon.
Please follow-up if there are features / blockers / bugs that need to
be addressed for 1.30.

RHEL 7.3 preview repository and virt-v2v Windows conversions
First I'd like to remind people that I am publishing RHEL 7.3 preview
packages of libguestfs here:
https://people.redhat.com/~rjones/libguestfs-RHEL-7.3-preview/
https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2015-September/msg00079.html
These can be installed on RHEL 7.2.
In the libguestfs-1.32.1-3.el7 package that I have just uploaded, I
have enabled *experimental* support for virt-v2v

回复: guestfs_mount_local* api undefined symbols
Thank you Rich,
I checked the version and found that it printed an old 1.17.17 version which was deployed before.
But I remembered i did check the version in guestfish shell and it said 1.17.40 before that?then i totally ignored the fact i had another version involved.
I`ve changed the LD_LIBRARY_PATH and the "undefined symbol" error disappeared. But some "inspection API not
