RAID rebuild time and disk utilization....
So I'm in the process of building and testing a raid setup and it appeared to take along time to build I came across some settings for setting the min amount of time and that helped but it appears that one of the disks is struggling (100 utilization) vs the other one...I was wondering if anyone else has seen this and if so, is their a solution for it...my 2 disks are 1 Samsung F3 1tb /dev/sdb

Load at 5, no CPU I/O or swap in use
We are currently running CentOS 5 update 4 on a Dell R910 server 16 cores/32 hyperthreaded with 64GB of memory. It is our main Oracle 11g DB server for one of our customers and is attached to an MD 3000 storage array. We are having a load averaging around 5 but see no swap in use, CPUs are pretty much idle and no I/O wait. We have Oracle dataguard turned on in transactional mode. I've checked

[PATCH] virt-v2v: Create a libvirt-friendly volume name
The $vmdk value is a directory name in ESX.pm, although the later codes replace '/' with '_', the volume name isn't still friendly, for example, it looks like this: # virsh vol-list pool-dir Name Path ----------------------------------------- esx4.1-rhel6.2-x86_64_esx4.1-rhel6.2-x86_64

sedf: remove useless tracing printk and harmonize comments style.
sched_sedf.c used o have its own mechanism for producing tracing-alike kind of information (domain block, wakeup, etc.). Nowadays, with an even not so high number of pCPUs/vCPUs, just trying to enable this makes the serial console completely unusable, produces tons of very hard to parse and interpreet logging and can easily livelock Dom0. Moreover, pretty much the same result this is struggling to

Huge amount of used inode handlers reported by sar -v (inode-sz)
Any help with this problem would be very much appreciated (even "it's not 7.3 or ext3 pointers, look somewhere else"). I've seen a similar post to ext3-users, but since that one received no reply and I'm not convinced it's a ext3 problem (it only appears on our 7.3 hosts) , I'm CCing to the valhalla list. We have the same problem on ALL our Redhat 7.3 machines

Out of memory need to restart system - Probably OT
Please specify the Samba version you are running - winbindd in 2.2.2 had a *big* memory leak which would certainly eat all your memory over three days on a moderately busy server. The more work winbindd does the more memory it chews - which might explain the end of day incidents. Try using 'M' in Top to get an idea of who is eating the memory. Noel There is no indication in TOP as to

Empirica Copula
Dear users I am reposting this and hope it will be accepted this time. I am using copula package to fit my bivariate data and simulation. As explained in package documentation we can use our own data distribution to feed on copula as long as we have d, p and q (pdf, cdf and quantile) functions are available. Hence my code for those are: # Make the functions for data distribution

Greetings, I have a groupedData (nmGroupedData) object created with the following syntax: Soil <- groupedData( ksat ~ conc | soil_id/sar/rep, data=soil.data, labels=list(x='Solution Concentration', y='Saturated Hydraulic Conductivity'), units=list(x='(cmol_c)', y='(cm/s)') ) the original data represents longitudinal observations in the form of:

meaning of tests presented in anova(ols(...)) {Design package}
Hi, I am curious about how to interpret the table produced by anova(ols(...)), from the Design package. I have a multiple linear regression model, with some interaction, defined by: ols(formula = log(ksat * 60 * 60) ~ log(sar) * pol(activity, 3) + log(conc) * pol(sand, 3), data = sm.clean, x = TRUE, y = TRUE) n Model L.R. d.f. XenServer 5.6 FP1 - CPU utilization using sar
Hi all, Using XenServer with a RHEL6 beta VM, I have sar installed on the hypervisor and VM. If I do a ''md5sum < /dev/urandom'' to spike CPU usage on the VM, I see the indication on the XenCenter performance graph on CPU 0. It does increase quickly. Neither sar output gives any sort of indication that the CPU is being loaded. This VM is pinned to both processor 0 and 1

Where's the optimiser gone (part 11): use the proper instruction for sign extension
Compile with -O3 -m32 (see <https://godbolt.org/z/yCpBpM>): long lsign(long x) { return (x > 0) - (x < 0); } long long llsign(long long x) { return (x > 0) - (x < 0); } While the code generated for the "long" version of this function is quite OK, the code for the "long long" version misses an obvious optimisation: lsign: # @lsign mov

R2 for SAR and validation
Hi everyone, How can i obtain R2 for SAR model? and how can i validate the results, can i use the coefficients directly in a simple formula like y=b0+b1*x1+... or do i have to use the complicated formula for SAR (the one with the weight matrix and rho and...)?   Thanks for any help!  [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Kind Regards James

Instrumental variable quantile estimation of spatial autoregressive models
Dear all, I would like to implement a spatial quantile regression using instrumental variable estimation (according to Su and Yang (2007), Instrumental variable quantile estimation of spatial autoregressive models, SMU economics & statistis working paper series, 2007, 05-2007, p.35 ). I am applying the hedonic pricing method on land transactions in Luxembourg. My original data set contains
