Hi, I'm working with panel data from the Swiss Houshold Panel (SHP). firefox slow/unresponsive under KDE on CentOS 4
Hi, I'm a user of a CentOS 4.4 system at our department (personally I use Debian). I use KDE and when I run firefox, it sometimes tends to be very slow in response when clicking on links and especially when I click on the navigation bar to edit the url: it sometimes takes up to 2-3 seconds before firefox responds. Switching to Gnome completely solves the problem without any other changes.

how do you avoid "unresponsive script" timeouts?
I have a script which attaches an "add this to my cart" control to one of N rows of files in a Web page using invoke on a collection gathered with $$(''#mytable .mycontrol''). On most pages, this works great. But I have this one killer page with over 3,000 rows in the table. Once the script finishes loading, it runs really well. But that initial load takes so long

Fwd: Re: Asterisk CLI unresponsive
Jonas Try asterisk -rnx "show locks" > /locks.txt If that does not work than your CLI process is completely gone and you are done. I have bumped into these kind of CLI locks and it really sucks. I have written a program to monitor for them and kill the asterisk process if they occur then asterisk_safe will automatically start a new instance. It does not happen for me very often

Python using 99% cpu, xend unresponsive
Hi I''m a new xen user. I gather from the mailing lists that this problem occurs with excessive console output. However, I believe dom1 was sitting idle at the login prompt when I noticed top on dom0 was showing python at 99% cpu. xend would not respond to restarts. Reboot fixed it. What debugging output can i give you, if any, if this happens again? sam elstob
