[PATCH 00/16] External building, update for 2.6.33 and multiple root devices.
The following patchset implements 3 seperate series of changes.
External Building
=================
Patches 1 through 8 enable to use of klibc's build system while leaving the src
tree pristine (and potentially read only). Specifically:

[PATCH v2 0/4] Support drop directories directly from kinit
This patchset applies to klibc mainline.
This patchset introduces the ability to kinit to execute scripts or
executable files present in in the initramfs before switching over to
the root filesystem.
It is implemented by first implementing scandir() and alphasort() as
present in POSIX.1-2008 in klibc itself, and then using that as the
basis for iterating and executing files via a run_scripts()

[PATCH] build: Define __EXPORTED_HEADER__
The kernel header guard to ensure that headers aren't included from
userland moved in commit 69c8f52b. This causes the following message to
be emitted when building klibc (which is designed to use kernel headers
explicitly):

[PATCH v1 0/2] Support dropping of capabilities from early userspace.
This patchset applies to klibc mainline. As is it will probably collide
with Maximilian's recent patch to rename run-init to switch_root posted
last week.
To boot an untrusted environment with certain capabilities locked out,
we'd like to be able to drop the capabilities up front from early
userspace, before we actually transition onto the root volume.
This patchset implements this by

[PATCH v3 0/2] Support drop directories directly from kinit
This patchset applies to klibc mainline.
This patchset introduces the ability to kinit to execute scripts or
executable files present in in the initramfs before switching over to
the root filesystem.
This functionality is implemented in a newly introduced run_parts()
call, which calls scandir() to iterate through files which in then
executes in sequence.
run_parts() is also available as a

[git pull v2] x86_32, sh4, getrusage()
hello hpa,
here my birthday submission :)
please pull:
git pull git://git.debian.org/users/maks/klibc.git maks
Sam fixed a longstanding x86_32 build bug, thus it seems a good time
to flush the queue of the piled up patches, the shortlog tells it:

[PATCH v2] kinit: Add drop_capabilities support.
This patch adds the ability to kinit to allow the dropping of POSIX
capabilities.
kinit is modified by this change, such that it understands the new
kernel command line "drop_capabilities=" that specifies a comma
separated list of capability names that should be dropped before
switching over to the next init in the boot strap (typically on the root
disk).
When processing capabilities

klibc kbuild status
Hi hpa & others.
Following is a list of issues that I hope to be addressed soon so
we are in even better shape for -mm inclusion.
1) rebuild initramfs when content changes.

kbuild updates to klibc
Hi Peter & others.
Here are three patches that does the following:
#1 - Update kbuild part of klibc so make clean works
Adds gzip including a sample kbuild file
#2 - Factor out definition of usr/ to two variables
#3 - Move kbuild files to reflect location in the kernel
As requested in earlier mail I need a bit of guidiance of what you
expect from the kernel integrated parts of klibc.

[PATCH] klibc: reproducible builds
From: Maciej ?enczykowski <maze at google.com>
This adds a new setting: KBUILD_REPRODUCIBLE
If it is non-empty, ar and ranlib will be called in such
a way that timestamps do not affect the build output.
This allows one to get perfectly reproducible builds.

[PATCH] RFC: Running initscripts from kinit
For our platforms, we'd like to embed several different userland scripts /
programs that are executed before we have mounted the root filesystem as part
of the initramfs payload.
Specifically, I'd like to have multiple scripts executed before do_mounts(), so
I coded up this simple do_initscripts function that executes all executables
found in /etc/init.d in alphabetically sorted order.

building debug version of klibc
Hello!
Can someone please help me in building debug version of klibc ?
I've cloned git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/libs/klibc/klibc.git , but
failed to build it with debug info
added "-g" to HOSTCFLAGS in Makefile, but
$ make -j KLIBCKERNELSRC=`pwd`/../linux-2.6/usr
still strips every debug symbol , and i'm failed to change
scripts/Kbuild.klibc and Makefile to remove strip

Add cpio implementation to klibc
I was wondering if it would be possible to add a cpio (extraction)
implementation to klibc. Maybe this can be done in a way that the code
could bet shared between klibc and init/initramfs.c in the kernel.
Background of what I'm trying to do: I want to load an initramfs
from flash on a number of different devices. The devices are quite
similar but the partition in flash where the initramfs

difference between busybox and klibc (faq?)
Hello
what is the difference between busybox and klibc?
Say, I want to use an initramfs in order to mount root over nfs, I can
choose to use klibc with ipconfig and nfsmount? But I can also choose to use
busybox with ifconfig and mount.
So what's the difference, and why and in which case one is preferable to the
other?
If it's a FAQ, I'm sorry, just give me the link
Thanks

[PATCH klibc 0/4] Fix the KLIBCKERNEL{SRC,OBJ} mess
We currently use KLIBCKERNELSRC and KLIBCKERNELOBJ variables
which used to be required to point to a kernel source and object
directories. However the kernel headers were reorganised
starting in Linux 3.7 such that that doesn't work properly.
This series removes KLIBCKERNELOBJ and changes the use and
documentation of KLIBCKERNELSRC to be consistent.
