create_dev and raid
Yet another one of those "it would make sense it" posts.
Currently, create_dev in do_mounts.c simply unlinks the device and recreates it.
This doesn't seem right. If /dev/hda3 has already been created, by
some early-userspace app (udev), there's no need to unlink or even
parse the name again. Now, when talking about simple block devices,
this doesn't make much of a

[patch] skip existing md devices
The following patch will ignore already configured md devices in
kinit. The rationale is that, if an md device already exists, it was
previously assembled by some other tool (e.g. mdadm) and should remain
there. Currently, kinit removes it and attempts to recreate it, which
can cause all sorts of issues, especially in the situation that, the
md device is further encrypted and/or is an lvm

[PATCH] kill 2.4 dev_t vs kdev_t crap
The difference between kdev_t and dev_t in 2.4 is rather theoretical, no
need to clutter up the source for it.

plug leaks in febootstrap
Hi Rich,
I ran coverity against febootstrap's head and it spotted four leaks.
This fixes them. The first patch plugs three.
The second attempts to make the add_link function do what I'm
guessing it was intended to do. As is, it was a no-op.

[PATCH] Unsnarl missing_below/dry_run logic.
The generator can skip a directory's contents altogether due to
--ignore-non-existing, a daemon exclude, or a mkdir failure. On a --dry-run,
the generator can also note the missingness of a directory while still scanning
its contents. These two scenarios were conflated using a single set of
missing_below/missing_dir variables in combination with transient increments in
dry_run; this caused

[PATCH 0/4] usr/kinit checkpatch
Various coding style fixes checkpatch warns about.
The goal is not to be 100% checkpatch compliant,
but to have more consistent coding style.
As this is a trivial patch serie, will land in 24 hours in klibc git,
unless of course ml review hits a bugger.
Checked with size(3) that the generated kinit, fstype, ipconfig and
nfsmount are the same.

zpool import is trying to tell me something...
I recently had an X86 system (running Nexenta Elatte, if that matters -- b101 kernel, I think) suffer hardware failure and refuse to boot. I''ve migrated the disks into a SPARC system (b115) in an attempt to bring the data back online while I see about repairing the former system. However, I''m having some trouble with the import process:
