klibc integration status
Hi, Greg -
I have a 2.5.70 BK repository, with klibc integrated, at:
bk://klibc.bkbits.net/2.5-klibc
This repo has the following features:
* Completely up-to-date w.r.t. klibc itself.
* Kbuild sort of happy, but still needs an eyeball from Kai to
figure out why it always rebuilds everything in usr/.
* Supports both IP autoconfig and NFS root from initramfs.

my kernel is dazed and confused
Nov 12 08:54:27 steerpike kernel: Uhhuh. NMI received for unknown reason
a0 on CPU 0.
Nov 12 08:54:27 steerpike kernel: You have some hardware problem, likely
on the PCI bus.
Nov 12 08:54:27 steerpike kernel: Dazed and confused, but trying to continue
Would my Digium TDM410P cause an NMI, or is my computer failing?

klibc integrated in the kernel
This seem to be a good timing taking up the integration of klibc in the kernel again.
Based one klibc-0.152 and klibc.bkbits.net/2.5-klibc I will take a shot of it.
I will focus on getting the library compiled (should be pretty straighforward).
Next two steps are:
2) Adding minimum applications to the kernel (if any)
3) Support applications outside the kernel
I will put my work on bkbits.net

kbuild improvements for klibc
Hi all.
I have pushed my earlier announced kbuild improvements patch to:
bk://linux-sam.bkbits.net/2.5-klibc
First cset is the earlier posted cset, whit a few small modifications.
One important change is that the usr/Makefile now uses *.a files
in initramfs-y assignment. I realised that the purpose was to express
what kinit were using / referring.
Second cset is a trivial cset that just move

Missing model error
I am storing a shape object in a session, and somewhere I picked up
that to make sure I can restore the full glory of Shape, I needed
this line in ApplicationController
model :Shape
So, of course, I also have a file /app/models/shape.rb
All was working well, but then I decided I''d rather name the model
MyShape.
So, I
- edited the filename to "my_shape.rb"

Server freeze & kernel panic
Hi All
I'm having some serious kernel panic while using digium cards.
It may be related to IRQ shared.
Can this cause a lot of drop call and bad voice quality ?
Do you guys know if there is a way I can assign one IRQ for each digium card
?
Thanks a lot.
Here is the output of /var/log/syslog
kernel: [ 3821.982893] Uhhuh. NMI received for unknown reason 20.

klibc.bkbits.net is up
There are two hosted BitKeeper repos:
klibc is a BK clone of the klibc CVS tree
2.5-klibc is my attempts to integrate klibc into the kernel
If you want commit access to either repo, send me an ssh1 public key.

TDM04B vs Dell
Hi all,
I've struggled for several days trying to get a Digium TDM04B 4-port
wxfco card working on a Dell 1U PowerEdge 750 machine running
Fedora Core 1. I finally got a call back from Digium who indicated that
there is a fundamental conflict between the card and the PowerEdge
having to do with PCI interrupts. Asterisk version is stable v1-0 12/29/04.
The symptoms of the problem were as

NMI issues...
I have read thru what other users have tried in this list when they have
experienced seemingly similar issues to what I have, without success. I
suspect there might be an issue regarding both the X100P and TDM04b cards
being used in an Intel SE7525GP2 motherboard, as I had to even wait for a
BIOS update from Intel in order to utilize my 3ware 9500 SATA raid
controller on it (3ware Kb -->

memory error?
I have just noticed this message in my kernel logs, reporting the possibility of an error with my memory. This would go a long way towards explaining the problems i''ve been having. This particular error is occuring when i''m not running xen so is obviously not something brought on by xen itself.
The strange thing is that the NMI error is always followed by the TLAN: eth0: Adaptor

early userspace goals
Hi,
I've been messing around with the early userspace for the last couple
days. What are the goals of early userspace? Is the end goal to use
it as an initrd replacement or is it simply to do all the mounting
(nfsroot, initrd, hard disk) that is currently done in init/do_mounts*?
thanks

DELL 2800 : PCI Parity error
Hi,
I am struggling to get rid of a conflict on DELL 2800 : PCI Parity error
(EB113 on the display)
I am learning linux and asterisk as I go along, there might be obvious
things I should know, but bear with me.
>From demsg below my 2 digium cards installed are listed (no config or
connections done to digium cards yet), the conflict is with the TDM400P
card, without that card, in any slot, no

AD Auth, but Unix users and groups
Hello All:
I have a Samba server (running 3.0.11) that uses an LDAP SAM for
authentication. We now have AD (native mode) running in house.
Since everyone has a login there, I would like to use the AD
credentials for authentication. However, I would like to continue
to use the Unix user ids and group ids, etc.
All the documentation for AD authentication talks about ID mapping, etc.
I don't

ipfw and carp
Hi all:
Did any one use ipfw with CARP before? is there anything specific about ipfw configurations working with CARP? I have two servers and they configured with CARP. they are working fine except i can't turn on ipfw.
I have the exact same configuration except ip addresses; those same rule sets of ipfw work on one server but not on another.
Thanks all

validates_presence_of
I am just going through the book and I come across a problem with the
code in the app/models:
validates_format_of :image_url,
:with => %r{^http:.+\.(gif|jpg|png)$}i,
:message => "must be a URL for a GIF, JPG, or PNG image"
It seems to moan when it''s empty even though I removed :image_url from
validates_presence_of. How should I make it optional?

Upgrading to Centos 4.7 on HP DL580G5 caused problems
As part of patching a cluster which has two DL580G5 login nodes ( 4X
Intel 7300 DC cpus) & 24 HP DL160G5 compute nodes ( 2x Intel 5272 DC
cpus) we encountered an issue that I would like to record:
I upgraded both DL580s to Centos 4.7 via yum but only rebooted one
initially- this node, previously bomb-proof, started to hang randomly
with no obvious messages logged to help with diagnosis.
